The down arrow on osc2 and up arrow on lfo .. what are they? :oops: Im sure there was a manual somewhere but heh ... busy tweaking synth, you know ;)

Boost on filter boosts a lot(!). Exactly how does it work? Is there audio passing through unfiltered? You can get some different sounds using the boost, without a doubt!

Have you thought of adding some load/save buttons for the presets? Initialize would be good.

Great job :love:

Down arrow on osc2 drops the osc2 frequency two octaves (i.e. LFO mode for osc2).

The LFO up setting creates constant dc signal. It's supposed to be used with mod wheel or aftertouch, e.g. for filter sweeps. Try setting lfo-to-osc1-frequency full and move mod wheel to see what it's about.

The filter boost boosts the resonance, preserves the low frequencies and adds overdrive to filter. It will be different on MauSynth 2.0, currently it sounds a bit plasticy.

Load/save buttons may be a MauSynth 2.0 feature.

Cool! I just downloaded. Got a few more posts to make then I'm all over this new version....I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again! :hail:

Gotcha! Clever implementation :) I really like the UI as it makes me work in new ways compared to the ol' Moog layout.
For 2.0, could you extend the mod wheel range? I did a basic "LFO in 'sweepmode' modulating OSC2 and Filter cutoff where OSC2 is in 'LFO Mode' modulating the Filter Cutoff" - ie, mod wheel controls both pitch and modulation rate of the resonant filter. With a greater range you could go from .. nothing up to superfast with the modwheel :)

The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.

Well done, I really like this synth :love:

BUGREPORT : after closing the GUI the LFO wave-graphics do not refresh, as you can see from your own pic there is no lfo wave chosen !

Minor detail (not a bug) the knob pointers move a little jumpy around the knobs. :)

Apart from that ... GREAT SYNTH ! THANKS 8)

Definitely love the new GUI. Even though the layout is about the same, I feel that it is easier to read somehow.

Anyway, I've been liking the sound of this synth quite a bit. I think it has the potential to become one of the KVR classics up there with Tyrell or Charlatan or Synth 1.

That's my opinion so far anyway. :)

Pekka, just wanted to praise the sound of this synth... :) It sounds so .. sweet!
You mentioned 2.0, is there any plans to share?

The resonance boost sort of doubles the volume output, is that intended or a collision with my host(s)?

This has probably been answered somewhere in these 12 pages but can I ask why the large group of knobs between the filter and osc sections aren't labeled?

I think that's a part of mausynth's charm.. :)

If you for instance follow the section where the LFO is, you'll see it goes up to the same height as the osc's and filter. Tweak the one next to pulse width and you'll modulate it. All the way up you'll modulate the filter frequency. It becomes very logical after a while and i think it helps you shape sounds with a different approach.

The current plans for 2.0 are:

* Two voice layers
* Two modulation envelopes and LFO:s instead of one
* Wavetable mode for osc2. It's modeled after a classic 80's synth (though band-limited of course)
* Distortion, modeled after EHX Bass Big Muff
* Switchable low/mid/high quality modes
* Website for sharing presets and banks
* Small improvements not worth mentioning

But currently I'm enjoying the Finnish summer and not coding much.

It's kind of intended... There's a "bug" in the boost code that makes the sound louder but also overdrives the filter when resonance is increased. It sounded quite organic so I left it there. Boost will be different in 2.0, there will be a separate distortion unit that can be used to create similar sounds but with higher quality.

Version 2?!? I can wait, I think. Two mod envs and 2 LFOs...you're messing with fire there. Have you considered making any effects?
Enjoy the summer man!

In other words it's utter hell to program. :lol:

Fair enough, still sounds great and the price is right. :)
