Slightly OT, but there's only one Logic now available, that's Logic Pro. It includes Sculpture, but lacks some applications of the former Studio package, such as Mainstage and Waveburner. Otherwise, it's full featured so including all plugins and features previously not available in the Express version. $200 for that.
You mean their not selling Express anymore?
When did that happen?
I didn't know they discontinued it.

I don't see this as much of a solution. It may work just fine for you, but OP didn't ask to switch DAWs in order to be able to use a sampler (that and the 200$ thing). Live also has great samplers, but if I was willing to use Live for its samplers, I'd be using Live.

No. Just like Live, and other daw included samplers. You have to use it from within only.
Then again, there are ways to workaround that.
Using sample converters or rewire, or transferring mixed down tracks.

Yes, there's only the Pro version now, about a year or so ago, when Apple decided to ditch the boxed software and only make it available as a download in the app store. But with the current pricing it's a very sweet deal IMHO.

EDIT: I must add that, and this is just guessing, an update to Logic (Logic X) will probably sell for the same price, whether you have a previous version or not. This because the app store doesn't have upgrade pricing, unless it's a free update. Wiht that in mind, the price is sort of ok, especially since you won't know when an update will arrive.
But agreed that I there are more convenient (ie plugins) ways available for the problem at hand, such as the aforementioned VSamp, Highlife and Minispillage2.

Isn't there a promo on for upgrading Studio One to Pro at the moment? I think that's your best bet.
