sorry if it's been already asked, but who said that's music, us human or them?
I mean it has been intentionally send as music, sharing the meaning of "music",
or they sent "something" which resemble music to us

@liqih: That question hadn't occurred to me. I guess my thinking was that they'd sent something that they thought of as music, whether their own or their attempt at using ours to communicate. Other interpretations are possible and entirely legitimate, but that's kind of what I had in mind.

ive sent an automated probe out to a galaxy just on the edge of the universe, so far no contact but a class 3 planet is within range, hopefully it will reach the planet before the 25th and hopefully we will find some form of life that "produces" "music".
cant say for certain what will occur as we are in unchartered territories, maybe there will be intelligent life forms we can communicate with, maybe there will be nothing? what we do know from the long range scans the probe has done is that there is some form of atmosphere and possible land and water topography. the differing densities discovered by the scans suggest a planet similar to our own, with a 2/3 liquid covered planet.
