At least it is good to know that I am not the only one experiencing this issue...andy_cytomic wrote:The when hovering over a knob using the mouse wheel to adjust the value works on mac but is currently broken on windows, sorry about that.hibidy wrote:Were the mousewheel things ever fixed?

Would you post the source files please? I'd especially like to try them with the PSP busspressor. Thanks!penguinfromdeep wrote:I just downloaded Duende demo for the kicks and compared (by ear) the bus compressor to Glue. The Duende bus compressor distorts really easily with fast attack times with material that has lot of low frequency content (dance type beats), Glue stays really smooth even without any oversampling or sidechain enabled. Damn, I was really looking forward to Duende but I was really disappointed. Does the hardware really distort nastily like this? To be honest it doesn't sound like good analog distortion. Glue sounds better to me
Duende processed
Cytomic processed
Listen how the kick is the distorted in the Duende examples... Not in a good way imho.
Here's another, more extreme example with more stuff and lots of compression:

It was a drumloop I made, I will check if I still have the original project (I should have it), I will render it down and send you wavantithesist wrote: Would you post the source files please? I'd especially like to try them with the PSP busspressor. Thanks!
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

Andy, are there any plans on adding a saturation option to The Glue?

u think it does already dosent it I dont know I dont own it but I think you can turn on some saturationdjanthonyw wrote:Andy, are there any plans on adding a saturation option to The Glue?

I have no plans to add any saturation to The Glue for v1.x
At some time in the future I do plan to update The Glue and add some cool new stuff, I'll see at that time what to include. On top of the list is improving the tone of the Range knob, and adding a knob for smooth linked to dual operation.

I think what djanthonyw was referring to is non-linearities in the main signal path even when compression is not occurring. The VCA chips used aren't completely linear, and there are also some op-amps in the signal path as well. This is most evident in the older SSL4000 designs where the DBX 202C VCA chips and the NE5534 op-amp chips are used, the more modern "That Corp" chips and op-amps are much cleaner, and when multiple chips are used in parallel like in the modern designs the linearity is improved even further.jam92189 wrote:u think it does already dosent it I dont know I dont own it but I think you can turn on some saturationdjanthonyw wrote:Andy, are there any plans on adding a saturation option to The Glue?

But many people prefer the sound of "real" FX 384 to modern XLogic ones!andy_cytomic wrote:This is most evident in the older SSL4000 designs where the DBX 202C VCA chips and the NE5534 op-amp chips are used, the more modern "That Corp" chips and op-amps are much cleaner, and when multiple chips are used in parallel like in the modern designs the linearity is improved even further.

honestly as long as it sounds good and works I am happy I have some nice saturation plugins and some nice vintage style stuff so as long as it works I would be happy

A Deluxe or 2.0 version of The Glue would probably benefit from a lot of the electrical engineering-type research you put into the creation of The Drop. It would be cool to see a more detailed circuit modelling for a 2.0. Though in all honesty, The Glue sounds great as is and I'd be much more interested in seeing you move onto an entirely different dynamics processor.andy_cytomic wrote:I have no plans to add any saturation to The Glue for v1.x

After some testing, The Glue with Satson or especially with Nebula 4KD is simply awesome for adding saturation on top.
