I don't know about Studio One, but in Live (and Savi-Host iirc) you can click the keyboard icon to enable the qwerty to input midi notes. The top 2 rows input notes, and the z/x keys work as shift octave buttons. In Live the F keys mute and unmute tracks.

You can do it in studio one, just go to the midi settings where you would add a new keyboard. In the list of manufacturers go down to presonus, in there will be QWERTY keyboard, add that one

thank you nicely :)

Reaper also has a built-in keyboard for midi....

Insert Piz Here has one called something like-MidiKeysGui, it has a "grab qwerty" button on it.

A web search should still be able to find the old app Trollo, just not at the original author's site.

Press the "CAPS Lock" key ... that will display a mini keyboard. Letters now trigger notes.

If that does not work, check preferences - there is an option to enable caps lock keys.

Peace,
Andy.
