ive always loved the rv7000,its so old (in software years) and its STILL a mammoth of a reverb unit that is useful for anything you put through it...

its another one of reasons devices that makes you proud to be with the props,would be great to see a 'version 2' of the rv7000 in a future upgrade

I agree with ttoz. It's a great sounding reverb with a low cpu hit. wish it was a VST.

Agreed, I really miss the RV7000 from Reason, I think it sounds great. So much so, that I made convolution presets from it for use in Pristine Space outside of Reason. (a few years back, I use AAR now)

Like Andy, I wish it was a VST, I would snap it up in no time.

Can't say this reverb impresses me much. I also find the GUI a bit hard to work with. There's more in it than is easily seen because of the knobs. I'd rather switches for lots of that. It's capable, just not impressive to me.

As I've become far more interested in emulating real spaces for binaural effects, no reverb really impresses me any more Sadly, there's no tool to do what I want to do. I've tried every binaural and HRTF plug there is. None of it's any good for simulating a real space. Looks like I'll have to set up a stereo pair of mics and a bunch of speakers in a real space to get real spacial effects.

EOS was done by Sean Costello (the Valhalla guy) for Audio Damage. Sean doesn't like that Props get 30% of all sales on REs. I doubt EOS will be available as a RE because of this.

Are you serious this time? Aren't you reverb junkie? I was speaking about algorithm controls on RV7000 display. I mean real controls for controlling space design which is supposed to surround my instrument. For example their Hall algorithm have eight (..8..) controls. Plate have...none. Well if you think that predelay is sort of space modelling control feel free but to me it is not. It is only delay added.

And no i don't take that decay, simple hi Eq and hifi damp are enough for this..


What do i expect? Well everything other then playing with static supposedly Plate algorithm. Where is crossover? Spread buildup? Advanced modulation setup? I know you used powercore before, you should really remember what does it take to make good sounding reverb and what controls needed to be there to shape sound to actually fit in the mix or to actually design space you want to start with.

As example RV7000 ER controls are pretty hilarious. There isn't real tuning for this yet i think 99% of world will agree that ER(early refraction) is soul of any reverb and need to be taken with serious tweaking if you want an absolute control over reverb. Several best reverbs have even different ER patterns to adopt to that specific design view. RV7000 Hall ER is complete joke to me.


If spring sound kinda spring to you and if that's ok to you then by that logic you can actually use any spring found in any host or plenty of free ones and you can still say they sound "springy" while when compared to real spring reverb tail (which they desperately try to mimic) they are shitty metallic ringing fest. There are only several good sounding spring reverbs on market. Reason RV7000 is surely not one of them. IMHO

You are reverb junky (at least i am under impression that you are) so now i am wondering do you only judge reverb by preset which are shipped with it or you really tweak it?

Plasticky yes under that i mean it doesn't surround around instrument and it won't gel with mix nicely. Thus it is giving me kinda plastic sound. Actually i think i was the first one ever at their forum asking several years ago for impulse reverb or more advanced reverb (IR reverb isn't good but is better then RV7000 imho because with good IR's i am under impression that i could produce better results then RV7000) because exactly about that impression i described above.

I don't want to rain on your parade but I found Reason's reverb very poor (gritty, unnatural sounding) compared to the Lexicon PCM 81. This is not surprising considering how expensive Lexicon is. What surprised me was how good Valhalla reverb is and of course Valhalla is not available in Reason.

Just because someone disagrees with the love-in, doesn't make them a troll. I agree with Frantz and some of what the previous poster is saying. The RV7000 is not a natural sounding reverb nor is it a lush "effecty" reverb.
