It's actually hilarious - after years of saying they didn't want plugins, some of these same Reason fans are on every forum demanding them yesterday! What a bunch of hypocrites, lol.
But they will probably pipe down in a while. I'm pretty sure most of the Re buyers will realise there's no money left in the bank before very long
I've been a member here for years myself, but haven't posted in quite some time.
Used Live since V1.0, Reason since V2.5 and now back using Logic but also use Renoise and quite a bit of hardware.
The reason for laying low here, Harmony-Central, even the Props forum is that it's that same tired old shit all the time, the irony being that just as many people play as many stupid games in here as they do everywhere else.
Heaven knows I hear the same sort of circular arguments over analog synth x vs synth y or why digital sucks and how hardware is better at everything than software (which we all know is another bullocks argument).
Personally I don't want a bunch of VST Re-ports and would rather see new devices created specifically for the format over content from other hosts being used in Reason 6.5 (I have rewire for a Reason and I'm quite happy to use it).
For example a slew of modular synthesis rack components for building custom modular patches from scratch in a Combinator would be a good place to start and thankfully people like Synapse Audio have been (IMHO) pretty much on the money with the Filter, Chorus, Ring Mod and Vintage EQ.
That said is it any different to being on a Mac and wishing product X was available for it when it's on PC or wishing you could use Metasynth in Windows for example ? I know I've seen more than one RTAS plug in that I wished I could use in Logic. And don't get me started on idiots doing the whole PC vs Mac debate either (seen to much of that here and elsewhere).
Perception is a funny thing and it's all well and good being on the out side looking in but it's all to easy to forget that to those on the inside looking out that they generally see an all too familiar reflection without even being aware of it.
