drez wrote: headquest, you jumped OFF of Reason yet are one of the top 3 people that are THE MOST vocal about what you specifically DON'T like about it. It baffles the mind.

Your statement about Reason "fans" is as hypocritical as I've seen.
Leaving aside the fact that you've left logical argument behind and resorted to personal attack, which is always a sign of losing an argument, the only reason I've been talking about Reason a lot recently is because there are so many threads about it going around. It's a hot topic is all. But you can find me elsewhere here talking in Live threads, Bitwig threads, OT threads, and so on. I'm not just here to bash Propellerhead, even though there are clearly some here who only pop in to promote Reason.

And at the end of the day, whether you like it or not I happen to feel that my opinion is just as valid as yours... I'm genuinely sorry you don't see it that way, because I always thought you to be a fair minded bloke.

I'm guessing from your repeated attacks in various threads that you would rather I would keep quite and cede the floor to the fanboys and marketing engineers, so that they can continue their praise and worship of Reason uninterrupted...

That's not going to happen though, because I personally think it's worth having debates that consist of both sides of the argument. In fact I value that, and often within these discussions I am persuaded by the arguments that others put forward. It comes from being open minded. I guess it's just also that I grew up in a relatively free country where people like to discuss stuff in a balanced way, and I had a schooling where I was encouraged to ask questions and develop critical thinking.

YMMV, obviously. I'm sorry that I offend you so.
It wasn't a personal attack. If you read your original post, you completely backhanded people that enjoy reason. Let me requote you:
headquest wrote: Reason fans are a very vocal bunch. It's quite a cult thing for some of them. And Re is bringing them out of the closet and onto other forums.

It's actually hilarious - after years of saying they didn't want plugins, some of these same Reason fans are on every forum demanding them yesterday! What a bunch of hypocrites, lol.

But they will probably pipe down in a while. I'm pretty sure most of the Re buyers will realise there's no money left in the bank before very long
I don't care if you keep going on about what you are going on about, but the point is that you backhand with chiding remarks people that enjoy reason for what they consider just as valid reasons as you DISKliking it.

Now you have the nerve to say I'm personally attacking you? I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of your POST, not your arguments. For you to make disparaging remarks against people that have a different view of you (Reason "fans"). You can say what you want, but your comments about people that enjoy reason and are excited about it fly in the face of how you do the same exact thing from the opposite view point.

I didn't personally attack you in the slightest. I stated the fact. I exchanged "fanboy" for "basher" and the equation resolves. I'm showing that your statement is identical whether you are a "fan" or a "basher". Both are as persistent. You act as if the contrary to your statement isn't possible.

Sure, that part is fine and fair game. It was the personal part you wrote after that which I quoted and was directly commenting on.

I've no problem with you or anyone characterising me as a "Reason basher" because I have had a poor experience of their software, a poor experience of the company, and I'm fed up with their negative jibes at the rest of the industry, and the pure BS they come out with in their public statements. If stating my concerns to others earns me a title of "basher" in your book, so be it

Your experience has been apparently different, and as far as I'm concerned you are entitled to your view, and welcome to share it as much as you like.

You have apparently decided my comment on "Reason fans" was in some way about you... although I don't know why you would have a problem with describing yourself as a fan :?

Having said that, I wasn't even thinking of you anyway, nor have I seen you making loads of requests from developers for more Re products. There's quite a lot of other people our there who use the internet too ;) ... perhaps you should read my comments more carefully in future, instead of making assumptions.

It's your choice to take it personally. And it was your choice to attack me in response

As is your choice to look at it as a personal attack. To me, it was stating an observation.

I don't take it personally, its just that your post doesn't make any sense to me.

No I didn't. I "backhanded" people who have stated over many years that they didn't want plugins in Reason because blah blah blah... and are now complaining that developers aren't all providing them on the day of release.

I think those people have double standards and massively unfair expectations of developers.

I have massively enjoyed Reason over many years, and continue to enjoy aspects of it. In your head you completely altered what I said purely to justify a petty attack in response. Sad.

But no, there's no reason for me to be mad at Reason.
So, you wouldn't be privy to some cat pics?

I'm not mad at Reason either, I like mixcontrol :hihi:

Can you name the names of people that have stated this argument?

Headquest your constant incessant tirades against anything reason are bordering on the insane now. Sell your Reason license if you still have it and continue enjoying Live. Stop polluting every reason thread with your ridiculous walls of text. The guy above is right, YOU ARE the ultimate antifanboy. Back to lurking mode.

Well I think this particular argument was started by you to be honest ;)

As for people who are requesting / demanding various VST plugins in Re format, just go to the developer forums. As zerocrossing says in his OP, it's fairly easy to spot ;)

Thanks for your psychoanalysis "funky koval" (posts = 4).

It would surely be a shame to "pollute" a thread titled "Are you pissed off with Reason?". Shame on me, then!

If "lurking" here doesn't please you, you can always return to the PH forum ;)

I'm not talking about this argument.

I'm also not going to go to the developer forums. I'm asking you to post the names of the people you are backhanding. You've apparently noticed this occurring, so I'm asking for your sources.

Same goes for all those App Store, iWank and Mac Stuffs and Coffee ('cause I only drink Tea) and dark chocolate ('cause I only eat the better kind) and Religion ('cause I live by Faith) and ... and ... and ...

Actually :?

No, because you don't want to admit that you completely misrepresented me in your post. That would take a bit of humility.

If you check back you will notice I said to you that I am sorry that my position offends you. You don't even have the decency or dignity to admit that you completely twisted my statements.
I'm also not going to go to the developer forums. I'm asking you to post the names of the people you are backhanding. You've apparently noticed this occurring, so I'm asking for your sources.
I'm not so concerned about "winning an argument" as to spend the next half hour going onto the Camel Audio forum to spot all the Reason users asking for Alchemy, the Uhe forum to collect the names of Reason users there requesting Diva, etc, etc, etc.

If you genuinely don't believe that Reason users are requesting those things, after all the arguments against them over the years, well then that's fine. Perhaps both zerocrossing in his OP and now me are both making it up simply to be "bashers". There, happy now?

lol, from now on, I'm going to start popping into these "Reason" threads and make similar comments :)
