I installed a 3d game (Prey, I believe) and it runs great. No complaints there. I also use a Microsoft usb mouse with it from time to time and it also works fine, with no drivers installed or anything.

I've done enough reading here and elsewhere to understand full well that plenty of folks have had a lot of legitimate complaints about their Macs. I wasn't looking for the perfect blending of performance and price or anything like that, but rather something new and (hopefully) fun to use and the Mac has delivered in spades.

In the end, people buy what they buy for reasons 'sound' and otherwise. No need to run defense here on anyone or anything's behalf!

I also wanted to make another positive note (more musical puns, egads ; ) about the Apogee JAM. It works GREAT with PC's too! Asio4All picks it right up and, as on the new Mac, my old dual core Lenovo had no problem getting very playable latencies for guitar jamming and recording via software monitoring through VST's.

If you already have an iPad, the $99 for one of these things is well spent, imo.

Just want to +1 you on the Apogee Jam. I use it on my iPad and Mac's, and it is just flawless. It cost more than the others, but it is worry free and NOT iOS only.....
