A great idea. It doesn't show all connections (like nothing about the 2nd filter that I can tell) BUT it's a quick way to get an overall idea of what's taking place. The intelligent updating of this info is not something I've encountered before, so big plus for that. :tu:

An add-on feature for the Info pane would be to allow the designer to enter a brief text while saving the patch, but that's not absolutely necessary. I think we're spoiled by what we have now. So far I like the patch storage system, but we'll have this conversation again after I have it loaded Oxium w/ a few banks of c. 500 patches. I hope it will still feel that way. There's a lot of nice organisation options for sure!

Ran across an error in the manual:
SWING: set a swing value to the arpeggio. Turn right to get no swing, turn left to get maximum swing.
The knob doesn't work that way in my 0.94 version. Should be worded the other way around. Turning the knob Right introduces Swing offset and turning it Left removes it. Perhaps someone was looking at the interface upside down while writing that description :hihi:

Cheers!

Thanks Christophe,

Yes this have been reported a few times.

Hmmmm This should be fixed in the 0.94 version. What version do you use atm ?

Btw what do you think of this (kind of) "intelligent info feedback" pane ?
Needs the ability to add user notes

i love it, it shows what the sound designer had in mind
Exactly ! :)

Else some music to change a bit : Here are unusual Oxium instruments made with the instruments created by :tu: Nori :tu: :

Unusual Oxium

Ive just bought it 5 minutes ago, im wondering if you plan on expanding the presets it comes with as 250 seems a bit measly when compared with the other synthesizers, i was considering getting ACE because it has 500+, but chose to get this for something new. Any ideas??
Thanks for choosing Oxium. :)

Well the policy at Xils is that, like Native Instruments or similar companies, we commission professional Sound Designers, and we pay each preset wich will be present in the final factory library.

Additionnaly, we have also a fierce independant Test Preset Team, composed of very different musicians with different tastes, whose -tough- job is to rate presets to select only the cream of the cream.

Some other companies might have different policies.

We hope that eventually this makes a difference in the resulting quality of the final factory library content.

Did we succeed ? Well, you'll tell us :)

If you manage to get me to find a patch that i will end up using, then you indeed have succeed ;) It will be very interesting to hear the sounds!

I've been using Mux to create subsynths of Oxium. You can have 16 knobs that you can control multiple parameters of a vst/i. Ranges and percentages can be set and there's modulation like envelopes and lfo's if you don't find the synth's to be enough :D
Just another way of enjoying Oxium

Yes iirc it has never been done in another synthesizer, and I'm very glad that some of you find it usefull !

Thanks SnigelX for the error on the manual :tu: ( I'm a manual freak to )

And to you and Stephen :

We did that for the SYnthix : Infos filled by the sound designers, but actually very few sound designers filled it, and as the text tool was a bit clumsy we could not let it for non SD users the final version. I certainly hope that we'll make another try for this feature in the future though.

These two files are used for the import/export bank features (they are opening the browse windows and are doing nothing else)

These files are mirrored in the xils-lab preset folder so you can delete them.
But if the import/export feature is not working on your system, then you will have to reinstall Oxium, letting these files to be copied.

Hi Nickb100,

Certainly a false positive. I saw that your antivirus also detected some other wellknown VSTI as positive, like Diva. There are thousands of Oxium versions installed already and nobody did report this until now, so my guess is that your antivirus is very picky, or eventually you might change its parameters.

The files are just necessary to the install files, and especially targeted so that the import/export function work as expected.

What is its name btw ? ( The AV program ) Maybe we can ask them to remove Oxium from their lists. ( If its not only based on an heuristic system and they maintain, and update, a list as well )

Yeah must be powerfull. There are many ways indeed to use a synth.

I use Kore for this kind of control, but maybe Mux is a bit lighter and easy to integrate in a system.

Well regarding presets, some people barely need them, especially if you can create some metacontrols like this, turning the synth in to a giant morphable one preset monster.

But ..... ( yes there is a but  ) whatever the system you use to control Oxium, there are some patches in the factory library than no one else that the sound designer who created could have imagined. They are unique ( and I say this a a SD myself, and a true preset whore at the same time ). However, Admitedly, not everyone willl need them.

Anyway its a good opportunity for me to remind people that in Oxium you can assign ALL parameters to Midi CC, and therefore create all the Macro buttons you want, or just control them in real time with your usual midi keyboards, if it has assignable knobs, sliders etc like my Novation, or an interface like Kore

Uh oh, bad weather in the channel....... :S

If you use fast automation or an external midi lfo on at least tune 1 parameter, oxium will become sluggish and most likely crash.

I've tried this in Live, Reaper and EnergyXT with same results.
If the GUI is hidden there wont be a crash or any sluggishness so i can only assume it has to do with the graphics.
Even simple automation causes this. Another guy (liquidsound) first reported this in another thread so im not alone :(

Happy bugsquishing! :hihi:
