Suggestions for something comparable to SampleTank IOS.

Greetings,
I pretty much found exactly what I needed in Sample Tank for IOS for what I need to do in my band (I am a guitarist who is also doing synth/piano duties).. But there are two showstoppers that really make me hesitant to use ST live.
Can anyone reccommend something else that has the number of instruments, the quality of instruments, the preset/group metaphor that ST uses, etc... I mean it is basically built from the ground up to be used live.
My only requirement other than above is this - I MUST be able to control banks and patches from my AXIOM keyboard....
Your thoughts are welcome...

As far as I know, nothing comes remotely close to SampleTank in the ROMpler arena. How do you feel about using SoundFonts? I haven't personally tried bs-16i, but it might respond to program control messages: http://www.bismark.jp/bs-16i/
As far as SampleTank goes, I know IK is working on a new version, maybe you could suggest that as a new feature. Or perhaps mount the iPad to a mic stand using a iKlip, so it's within reach and you can change patches that way?

Damiana,
This idea may be helpful. Each preset lets you assign up to four different instruments. Place each instrument on its own MIDI channel. Select all four instrument buttons by tapping all four buttons at the same time. They should all display as red (selected).
From your Axiom, you just need to change your MIDI channel to access a different SampleTank sound. You can also be creative using splits/layers that use the different MIDI channels.
Depending on how many patches you need, you may get by with just a single 4-instrument preset. Or you can create a 4-instrument preset for each song.
But as of right now, the only way to change presets or sounds is to manually select it. There are no program changes.

If that made it into ST3, it would be very sweet!ObiK wrote:We have updated SampleTank on iOS to accept MIDI program changes.
I miss having that capability since I went ITB, I know I've got lots of slots in ST, but loading all those briefly used instruments eats up CPU and RAM way more than I like.
