Still no sign of DP8?
I guess it was only a matter of time for it to come to PC. Samplitude going to Mac more surprising.
I will just pretend DP is too expensive for me and try to ignore it as best as I can. But the film scoring abilities ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

It's all about the wavelets. I dream of the perfect additive synthesis.

they are taking their sweet time aren't they?
(please!!!!!!!!!! None of the "oh they are making it right, take your time beta team" bunko!" )
again, they had a working (at least alpha) at winter namm, so it's surprising they are taking so long!

I might kill myself if DP8 comes out right after taking my time with the S1 demo and getting it. After drooling for days over its notation capabilities and kicking myself for not getting a DAW with any scoring.
So, Motu should just turn around and cancel DP8... or keep it to Mac

But I bet they wanna get everything really tight, as it will be really big. The PC DAW market has good amount of gaps at the moment and why not? Maybe it can be bigger than Cubendo.hibidy wrote:again, they had a working (at least alpha) at winter namm, so it's surprising they are taking so long!

I liked DP when I did my FAILED MAC EXPERIMENT. DP wasn't the problem, my mac was
Still, there were problems, and motu wasn't the best to deal with. Actually, I don't know how the forums are now but there was one guy who was a twat of epic proportions who just trolled DP with his vile BS. Not sure if that is the case now (or if I even would remember who it was)

There aren't many nice forums around. Really, I lost my faith in Steinberg when I looked at their forum. Oh yeah, and the AVID forum.hibidy wrote:I liked DP when I did my FAILED MAC EXPERIMENT. DP wasn't the problem, my mac was

I prefer forums that beams with optimism everywhere. Well, maybe except when the software development is getting nowhere. I'm looking at you *cough* Notion *cough*
Edit: so we agree that Steinberg forum is like skid row?

It really is. What a HUGE disappointment it was
I mean, every forum had the "favorite" game. But man, that forum took the cake
I swear to god, that CB asshole actually accused me of not having a valid license! What a tool!
Anyways, good riddance, I sold mine and I'm though I'm not "over it" obviously, I'm "over it"

Still not sold my Cubase... I really loved the programme, then on e of the point updates completely didn't work, and I quickly got some insight into Steinberg as a company. I should probably sell the stuff gathering dust in the closet some time.hibidy wrote:Anyways, good riddance, I sold mine and I'm though I'm not "over it" obviously, I'm "over it"
Maybe use the money to buy DP8
Depends at this point whether it has a dongle I guess (am I right thinking that DP7 on Mac doesn't, but cross platform Mach5 v3 does...?)

I dunno, it's been awhile. I just remember asking a question and getting a big fat f**k YOU from someone (in the sum of "read the f**king manual" ) which I have no patience for. The hardware section was FAR better (though some people were upset about the "beep/click click" problem) but all in all, a reasonable place. It was strictly the DP part I'm referring to.zedd wrote:Motunation.com is a very friendly forum in support of Digital Performer, but not run by MOTU. A nice community with a lot of helpful people.
If it's not like that now, groovy!
