Jbridge .. you should definitely demo for stability, but it is rock solid for me and also affordable. Devs should buy that program and paste it on everything.angelremington wrote:Hi, not yet but i've heard about it, I think I may have to as I really want to get Nexus and I do not want to switch my PC back to 32 bit or my DAW as it won't be taking advantage of the extra RAM, So far I've installed Sylenth1, NI Absynth 5, Alchemy Player etc and they are 64bit so all is coolflugel45 wrote:angelremington,
Have you looked into jBridge?
I'll be getting Massive next day or two so that is 32 bit as well... just the Nexus;) How much is that Jbridge thingy and does it have any unwanted side effects? to affect stability or reliability?
Thanks and regards,

Cheers taoyoyo. As it stands, I ended up buying S1 and after unlocking my VST3 folder (read about doing that on the S1 forum after Melodyne started doing very odd things) all is well and running smoothly.taoyoyo wrote:... from a Mac-centric perspective, and just based on my findings... CPU usage in S1 has been pretty good compared to Cubase, Reaper and Live. Have also noticed a further improvement when using the 64 bit version.samsam wrote: I can tell you exactly why people start threads like this because it was me that started it.
I started it to get others' opinions on Studio One, particularly from Mac users, to combine with my own demoing of it. And that's exactly what i got, it's been really useful. Even point by point comparisons.
It's probably not quite as good as Logic but I'll take S1 over that for ease of use (even if it doesn't go as far out there as Logic).
Not sure if you needed any more comments, but I saw the 'Mac Users' bit in your post and thought it was worth mentioning.

I just purchased a copy of Jbridge for possible Studio 1 use in the future. I'm in love with S1 at the moment, it's like if other DAWs always slowed down by ideal workflow by 20%, this one only chips away 5%. I think I'm in love
Which is a worrying sign when you consider I activated my Cubase only three days ago and now I'm not using it anymore over S1 demo.

It's all about the wavelets. I dream of the perfect additive synthesis.

Hey, please let us know how you go with Jbridge, if it is all good and stable and no issues, I'm thinking of buying it too, I only need it for the Nexus2 I intend to buy very soon.
Good stuff S1:)

My experience with Jbridge and S1 is that it works most of the time. And when it doesn't there are many options that you can adjust to make it work. Jbridge is an excellent product.

Jbridge is far more solid than 64 to 32 bridge on Cubase. Well, at least on my machine. I've never had Jbridge shut off, and I've been playing with plugins for quite a while.angelremington wrote:Hey mate, good stuff, I fell in love with it instantly too... all this time i've been missing out...schnapsglas wrote:I just purchased a copy of Jbridge for possible Studio 1 use in the future. But I guess you might be anxious with something like Nexus... one mate tells me it works well for him, and you can check here: http://forums.presonus.com/posts/list/15/17749.page it does seem to work.
Jbridge seems to have improved since then and S1 too, so why not? good luck
Exactly. Just change few settings and off you go.filter303 wrote:My experience with Jbridge and S1 is that it works most of the time. And when it doesn't there are many options that you can adjust to make it work. Jbridge is an excellent product.
To sum up, since... more than a decade ago I started out with Cakewalk, I've finally found my match. Now I won't need to get married and have children. Just dry hump S1 all day and make music instead

It's was V4 when the stability started going downhill in my opinion.jam92189 wrote:I tried the free one to be honest I might buy it if reaper does not start shaping up. its alot less stable for me nowadays

I think by 'record' he meant "go into an automation write mode'.ttoz wrote: @amused.. logic can certainly record automation just by touching and you don't even need to hit record.
Anyway, S1's automation tracks are really nice. Something worth looking into for people who are dabbling.

jBridge costs 14.99 euro (In the states, that currently converts to just $18.23!).angelremington wrote:..... How much is that Jbridge thingy and does it have any unwanted side effects? to affect stability or reliability? ....flugel45 wrote:angelremington,

As far as stability, of course, no one can predict how it will act on your system, but it has a good reputation in the vst-user community, and based on what I've read in various forums, it seems to work with most vsts - which is a pretty amazing achievement in itself - though, as has already been mentioned, some plugs may need a bit of tweaking with the settings.
So download the demo and give it a spin!

Question for 32 bit Windows 7 user -- I just read in another thread that 32 bit bit plugs will not work in S2 v2 unless they are j-bridged.
It this true? Does it work well? Foes it create any new problems?
I ask as I'm not too techie, but I admit that the jbridge FAQ section
http://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/jbr ... eshooting/
suggests some things could get hairy..
