To be honest. If they could just add something like ezdrummer!!!! and maybe a sylenth1.. I personally would be set. after they redo the piano roll so you can zoom in with one key command like in FL(press 5!!). and have auto cross fades for editing audio!! and add a totally new way to import midi!! audition it. and not make a new track every time you import a midi part. man oh man would this be nice..

:( thanks for the confirmation. I wonder what limitations are involved? I am wondering if they will be introducing RE 2 or something with 7. they almost Have to add PDC!!

ahh.. that feeling of dating a controlling(closed format), untrusting (dongle) crazy woman(corporate)and waiting for her to change to my liking. If she could only change this one thing and that other thing. we could be happy together. I don't think she is going to change. I think we should just..break up.

Why threads keeps going? Because people reply ....... so when you reply, the thread keeps going. Someone replies to you, the thread keeps going. If you dislike a thread for some reason, the best you can do is ............

as you can see, every (infinite) thread here and there about "reason discontent" ends with: "because of no-vst support and/or valid alternatives". There is no other main reason than this, despite PH efforts to plug the gap (once with rewire, nowadays with REs)...

I am interested to see what they do with version 7. I assume it will be a while though.

also

WHAT is up with this new EULA thang?? what is propellerheads stance on this? for selling RE's and so on? anyone have any info on this? not a word yet. I know there is a thread with devs who have already complied.
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=354654

and lots of speculation on devs who are not or do not want to comply yet.

Can we assume that the devs who have no public stance or will not talk about this issue.. will Not be complying and are trying to find loop holes? or are finding ways to pass the cost onto the customer first?

There are devs who have switched their policies right away.. who are not punishing the customer.

I wish Reason would just allow itself to be loaded as a native VST in any host sans their sequencer, then I would be interested as would feel whatever risks of buying REs or limitations they possess would be minimal as you COULD use them alongside Omnisphere etc. I feel that Reason would have been on nearly every computer musician's shopping list if that were the case. Their closed environment for me is the problem, but the idea of a store with one password etc appeals to me.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

YES. I have long dreamed of Reason as a vst. I do understand that they need to make money. and the more money they make the better odds they stay in business. I also like the store concept. I sort of demand a way to back up my own purchases though.

It will never happen, because of PDC issues, I guess. They could at least port their devices to VST, but I doubt they'll do, after years of throwing xxxx on vst... and tons of RSN fanboys believing vst is a sort of virus destroying the pureness and "rock solid stablity" of reason

hey.. anyone know how to use the Vocoder in reason as a real time effect? I want to hear the effect on my guitar while recording. Like I do with say the chorus or delay.

Don't worry. They'll do that before crumbling down or selling their business.

Edit:
Or if they WILL listen to the Bashers :D

Actually I think more people would buy REs, ie. me! It would take away the reluctance of buying a format for a closed system, and the 'killer feature' of a consolidated, modular rack of instruments would be a huge draw. If Reason's sequencer side were better and it allowed VSTs, I'd be happy to use it, but those rtwo keep me from being their customer. And I am not unique. They could go on with business as usual with their own DAW as well of course, it wouldn't change that.

I agree with that. I would buy more RE's for sure if you could use reason as a vst. only if they offer offline instals though. so I can back up my purchases. the main thing stopping me from buying at the moment. that and no promise of essential plugins I need like ezdrummer and the like.

Once, as a Reason user, I too believed their no-vst choice was something they wanted. Now I realize that was not a choice, but a consequence: reason CANNOT simply host vsts because it would crash at once. That's it. REs are just an effort to plug that gap. But you see the results: the only ones who believe REs is kind of an answer or alternative to vst are fanboys or enthusiastic people who have been using reason for some weeks.

I have made that suggestion, and I'm sure that many before me have done the same. And you came along to say the same, and many more will say it after you. Props doesn't seem interested in doing that, for whatever reason. There is no explanation to be had. Never a reply. Doing so would have virtually eliminated all debate over integrating VST, midi out, the annoyances of Rewire, Reason as a Rewire master, etc.
