Magnus Lidström stated that he is selling more Bitstream REs right now than AU/VST.

We should let the developers decide themselves what plattform they prefer.
But he is kinda endorsed with Propellerheads for years by now.

It is normal that he will say that. Anyway you also have to take in to account that his effect isn't anything spectacular for VST crowd while for Reason people it is more then welcome refreshing add on in tool list so yes in general he could speak true but when you look it from other perspective then this does not sound impressive at all..

Because it is just like talking about apple's policy, or monsanto, microsoft, nike, coca-cola... I did not think they were like this I thought they were different (and not in an apple crapslogan sense, of course)
Loss of time on such nonsense. Life's too short. :!:
If your aim is business, and making money, and you think this means "success", of course you can't grasp the sense. I did not think Propellerhead was like this, I thought they were different. But that awful video confirms a trend I don't like at all, with that CEO who acts like a clever businessman, more interested in NLP rather than music. Just watch Eric Persing's videos at NAMM, or when he explains aspects about spectrasonics products: you will catch the difference (and he's a CEO, too...).

Myrna, I think, I've got something for you.

now, in your brain's system one has to be a commy to understand the difference between "passion for business" (the awful PH CEO video) and "passion for music" (Eric Persing)?! Never heard Persing was a bolshevist :D

Well those "few niches" would certainly include the whole film and TV industry, also the advertising industry, game music (a huge growth area of course) and education... just off the top of my hear in fact we're talking about a huge number of users.

If that weren't the case then of course stuff like Kontakt (and the myriad sample sets third parties produce for it), Vienna Symphony, Omnisphere, etc would all have failed long ago. The reality is that there are many thriving areas of the music industry where composers rely on these products daily to do their work. And I guess the relevance is that until Reason Re has equivalent products or ports, then it will miss out on those huge markets.
When I look up the top bands reviewed in Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, etc. I consistently hear them mentioning hardware/analog synths and included software instruments (in Reason, Logic, Live, etc) way more than I hear them mention anything in the softsynth world. For songwriters, simplicity trumps power 9 times out of 10.
Agreed, although I do hear a lot of artists mention Sylenth1, Massive, some other NI products, Arturia etc quite frequently in interviews to...

And of course Reason

In the end, they all want to make a living with what they do, so i don't know what the fuss is about with those good/evil schematics... browse these forums for Arturia and u-he and you know what i'm talking about. :x I also think, you just cannot not be passionate about what you're doing when you code audio apps, coming back to the "small market" point. I bet those devs could make a lot more money doing something else.

Maybe i am not clear enough, sorry for language gap: what I mean is: both Spectrasonics and Propellerheads are a business, but while Persing still express his passion for music, Boos expresses ONLY passion for business. I don't see what politics, good/evil schemes etc. got to do with it :o

Can I be pissed off with Reason because an RE for MTron has just been released and we're still waiting for 64bit versions of the ferker?

that just mean you are fooled by E Persing actor talent's, (like many US companies, I don't feel they express passion but only hysteria in their product announcements)

Boos in this aspect is just more sincere, quiet, more european in a way

but both are CEO and both have only one goal : to make profit.
