"Ass hole", not "A hole". Again, what's the point of your question? Repeating your question again does not count as an answer. Let me help you with examples of possible points:

1. "I want to buy a Waves plugin for some unexplained reason and I want it to be a really good one, so if someone says it's a plugin they can't live without, I may check it out"

2. "I know I'll be getting many different answers, so based on how many times a plugin was mentioned, I'll see if it's worth checking and I'll just disregard the rest"

3. "What I actually want to know is WHY some Waves plugin is so important to someone that they can't live without it, but I won't explain myself, I'll just leave this short question here and again never reply to anyone, whether their reply is detailed or not"
(I especially have a problem with that, by the way)

4. "I'm a major Waves fan and hearing about people who can't live without one of their plugins is something that interests me because it makes me feel good"

5. "I know it easily counts as yet another 'what is the best' thread and I just want to get a bunch of comments here for some unexplained reason"

So do you have a point? If you really think I'm just an asshole, that's fine, at least I got MY point across in here.

I like Waves C4 plug and some more and yes i have Waves Mercury bundles but i can live without it. A hole is a nicer word than asshole some people prefer to use it because it's not so unpleasant. I can not live without Sound Toys and Sonnoxs plugins.

Renaissance Vox and IR-L. RVox is like magic on vocals and the impulse responses Waves has in their library are excellent.

Of course I *could* live without these two, that could be said for any plug-in really, but definitely wouldn't want to. These two just make my job much much easier.

None of them. Most of them that I've tried have much cheaper and often better equivalents. I do like Kramer Tape a lot but there are plenty of alternatives for that too.

These days there are alternatives for pretty much all plugins from every manufacturer. For all of the bashing Waves gets, they still make great plugins (and are used by pretty much all of the top-tier mixers). I like their CLA Compressors and the Studio Classics bundle. X-Noise is great too, for cleaning up tracks from bad environments. Could I live without them? Yes, I would make do. Lot's of great productions have been done with much less.

I've been wondering that too. The policy now from Waves makes you jump at the different offers - and never go for normal priced stuff.

$199 bundle would be a no-brainer.

SSL 4000 is the only one left that I might get - unless those are suddenly released separate. There is some overlapping in that bundle. Who needs both E-channel and G-channel.

Otherwise combining CLA-2A and Kramer HLS makes a pretty good sounding channelstrip.

API 2500 (One of the best ITB Compressors there is IMveryhumbleHO), API 550A & 550B EQ & API 560 10-Band G-EQ. SSL 4000 Collection E-Channel Channel Strip, G-Channel Channel Strip, G-Master Bus Compressor & G-Equalizer. (For Me personally it is the pair of channel strips that makes this winning), (ne)V(e)-Series V-Comp Master Bus Compressor, V-Series V-EQ3 & V-Series V-EQ4 (When they came out they seemed to get abit of a hard time, Personally I don't really care whether the V-Comp sounds close to a 2254, The V-EQ3 nailing the 1073/1066 EQ sections or The V-EQ4 being miles off the pleasure that a real 1081 is to use. What they are is easy on the eye, quick to work with and dial-in and they have never sounded abysmal unless I have fed abysmal into them first

), Same with the lot really, Im not that bothered how close or far they are vs the real deals but rather they are all quick to work with, don't cause my eye's to bleed and can get results I am happy with really fast with not that much effort when using all of the Waves plug-ins in the Studio Classics Collection. It has definately paid for itself already ages ago

Newer additions which I have been enjoying using are Kramer HLS Channel Channel Strip (Well IMO its more an EQ with dirt but anyway), Kramer PIE Compressor & Kramer Master Tape, They go well with the above/fit in with the same sort of workflow. TTT was worth the money). H-Comp, H-Delay, H-EQ, InPhase
Modern, sleek and just get stuff done. If I had to pick just one to keep to be able to use then it would easily be the API 2500 Compressor

Honestly, there aren't any Waves plugins I couldn't live without, but RenVox is the only one that I couldn't easily replace with something else. It just works.

Aren't renvox and renaxx were just dumbed down rencomp variants? Of course, even if that's true you would have to get the settings right to match.

API 2500 we had a real one next to it, and the plugin does it's thing! I'd probably never buy the hardware because of this!!!!

The EQ's like the 560 are amazing as well.. And then obviously the SSL package,the GCOMP is quick and the easiest of all,sounds good too strap that on each track n you will get a nice sound..

Perhaps my favorite the is the NSL!!! amazing emu imo!

I never heard that before. I was under the impression they were going to support AAX, but probably not until PT11 made it a requirement. Can you pass on the source of your info?

It's hard to say if RenVox is precisely just a combination of RComp, L2 and C1, because they don't really tell us, but it's strongly suggested that they share DNA. RVox and RenAxx seem to sound different from both each other and RenComp, but all three are very versatile.

RenAxx's half-assed re-skinning of RenVox does little to distinguish it from its brethren, at least visually. But it has a great sound, just recently discovered it as a drum fattener!
