Sorry if I laugh at it haha
You're making me laugh too :D ha ha

...the sales ranking quoted was from 2010 from a 2011 sses event.

It's quite possible that now logic has overtaken Propellerhead in U.S. market penetration as they slashed the price of logic to 199 in Dec 2011. I don't know. And neither do you.
In terms of a gross dollar figure, which Boos was talking about, I don't know. And neither do you.

Not sure how you would put a gross dollar value on GarageBand when it comes bundled with mac OS.:)

I have a Mac, so I guess I own GarageBand, but have not yet downloaded the full GB from Apple as I don't want it. You'd include me in there for sure, lol.

So you in America use reason in your studios, rather than cubase, logic, nuendo, or digital performer? ahah, you choose to install a 20.000 dollars system (protools) and as a second machine reason ahah. Strange country :D Funny, though!

It's worse, they are still using those old MPCs. Can you imagine?

Wow dude, you take generalization to a whole new level.

I'm neither a fanboy or a "newbie enthusiast". I use music software to make a living. I'm not "pissed at Reason" and don't think I've ever been angry at any piece of software (Pro Tools user for 10 years, Live user for 6 years, I started using Reason at v2, stopped for a while picked it up again at v4). While I may not always agree with the decisions made by the people who make the software I use, it's generally not outside my ability to understand why developers/product management/executive staff make those decisions. If I get to the point where I can't understand a companies decisions, I stop using their products and leave them be. It's simply not worth my time to do otherwise.

... and that is exactly what i wrote: people like you don't waste time reading the passionate posts of us (angry and fans). You don't care about it, you just admitted... so why are you here, in a thread called "pissed off at reason"?! This thread is for the passionate ones, not for those who play with reason now and then... otherwise I don't see why using the strong verb "pissed off at" in the thread... It is for "hate/love" arguments. I am sure many companies would like to have such "love/hate" attention, after all... the worst enemy for companies is indifference, not "hate/love" discussions...

I am a fan of Reason. I upgraded to 6.5 and have purchased a few REs. I'm just passionate in a different way.
I think you are correct though. There is room for all kinds of feelings about Reason and how it's changed over the years. I also think that public criticism is not inherently bad for product. I just prefer to take a constructive approach, whether I feel negatively or positively.

I just don't like to see such black and white statements like "NO is for fanboys or newbie enthusiasts, YES is for the ones who have played this software with passion in the past."

It's all good. I do understand why folks who have been waiting for VST support in Reason are upset about RE or why people who were waiting for Audio Tracks were upset by Record... I just don't feel the same way.

Dude. He's probably here same reason as me - wondering why you're pissed off at all. You're never going to influence Prop's development by writing an angry post on a forum, it's like pissing on your cornflakes and thinking it will make Kellogs change the flavor.

It's a piece of software that works the way it works, and in the next version it will work the way it works in that version. If you don't like it look across the market and find something that works the way you want it to work. This whole post just seems like a huge exercise in futility.

I'm on the fence. I wish to know: does this make me a passionate fanboy or a disgruntled newbie?

have you ever seen people discussing about football teams in a pub? Here in italy it happens very often, even on TV. It is a total exercise in futility, with passion. Nothing changes at all. It is just "are you pissed off at" something, so nothing serious at all (unless you think Reason is something serious). That influences nobody, apart fanboys maybe... both in football world and in reasonland. The fact we are whining and/or wowing about reason means it is still alive, so be happy mate. It is like "canon/nikon", "pc/mac", "inter/milan", "coffe/tea" etc. Choose your category and start whining/wowing, then...

Well, it's true: passion and futility. In U.S.A. there is that awful Microsoft CEO clowning and jumping on stage, so embarassing... I was upset.

But in Italy we have this kind of "football journalists": :?

:D

EDIT: english translation:

Pippo, Pippo... GOOOAL! Pippo! Pippo, my Pippo! You did it! Great Pippo, thank you, Thank you, Thank you great Pippo! With my heart I tell you "thanks". It is not rethoric, because there are people who don't believe in these emotions! On the contrary, it is PURE PASSION! Not like those ones who are cold and amorph. For us it is PURE PASSION and BIG LOVE for red and black colors... And for Pippo! My Pippo! He made it! He made it!

(the other journalist): excuse me, but how much money you bet on that?

:hihi:
