I only say that about few synths in the market.

Can users create their own skin? That's the only thing I am sort of meh about. I find UI too big.
Thanks for the compliment Schnapsglas,

éhéhéh this is sound that will stay on your tracks in the end, not the UI !

No Oxium is not user skinnable, at the moment you can choose between two skins ( Orange and grey ) and also change the knobs design ( all this in the option menu, you need to relaunch Oxium after changing skin) . We might offer a third Ice White skin at some point, but I cant promise anything.

Lotuzia wrote:Well the long version has the kind of hypnotic vibe that is -imvvvho- cool for this kind of tracks ( But I'm really not a specialist for this genre, so I cant give any valuable advice on that )

And maybe a shorter version can introduce more tension between the different parts ?

Only way to really know Christophe -imo- : Just try :)
i did not see the advantage of the long version, so thank you for noting the hypnotic vibe !
i will try tonight ;-)

I like it as it is carrieres ;) But by doing another version will just let you stumble on new possibilities .. so go stumble! :D

I really like the flower gui layout. Finally someone has nailed the insight of that looking like a hardware synth isn't intuitive on a monitor. Hardware design is based on having two hands to tweak with. Softsynth's GUI often ignore the fact that it's a mousecursor that's supposed to tweak it. For me small knobs and multiple pages makes for a -bleh- experience where my hands hurt.

Yes, that's what I exactly thought. That's why I also thought with a better UI, it could look dead amazing...

What is a "flower" GUI?

Its an analogy between flowers and the concept behind the Oxium GUI and UI.

You recognize a flower at first sight when you see one, and can tell immediatly a rose is not a daliah/

If you look at a "flower" oscillator in Oxium, its the same, you see immediatly what is your oscillator, the waveforms selected, the octave range and the detune, all this in a concentric design wich recall a flower.

More than that you can with a single glance "know" the whole oscillator block including the relation ship between oscillators, their relative octaves, sync etc.

Same for the filters and the LFO, no need for the eye to wander from small knobs to obscure labels and buttons , then for the brain to integrate all this. Its instant visual feedback and I called this flower design.

Of course you'll have to learn a bit the roses of Oxium, its a bit new. But -imho - its well worth it.

Just spend some times with the Oxium demo if you wish, and maybe eventually you'll see/feel more what I mean.

I guess that if I'd called it sausage design I would have even worse comments. And with Vampyr design, only one -dyslexic- person interested in bio divurtisy :-o

I see. You coined your own term for, what in user interface design is more commonly called, "visibility" where the state of the system is apparent at a glance.

I tried the demo. It sounds very good but I don't find orange or radioactive flowers appealing. :) I will try again when the third GUI is available.
