Isn't this thread about native substitutes for UAD plugins?

Don't those 4 T-RackS models qualify? It is an oversight not to include them.
Particularly since review after review says that these T-RackS models are the best in their class.

Whether or not you agree with that, you at least have to agree that they fit the topic of this thread, don't you?

I wouldn't be so annoyed with IK's tactics if the language and tone they used was different. Why resort to calling this thread "useless" and then posting obnoxiously large images of every plugin so as to call as much attention to it as possible? Do you see other devs like Andy from Cytomic or Sean from Valhalla EVER do that? Nope. Use the available advertising spaces on KVR for that sh*t.

I agree they fit into this thread and I own T-Racks Deluxe and Arc and CSR. Your corporate tactics piss me off though.

I have nothing to add, just joining up for the fun :D

Oh, I lied :hihi:

condidering how irrational the cpu usage is by so many hosts (even on my i7) it's still important to have the UAD concept. I've heard glowing reviews of the plugs, but the latency and what seems to be some configuration issues have kept me away.

Had some hopes for the new thunderbolt soundcard at one time, but ffs that price and then STILL having latency/configuration issues leaves me cold.

@thread: I guess I've just contributed to the clusterblank :scared: Still, a mostly interesting topic nonetheless.

5Lives, you've never seen the internet meme "this thread is useless without pics"?

Also, FYI, IK Multimedia is not a corporation, it is a privately owned and operated small technology company. 15 years of hard work and innovation has paid off and we have been able to succeed and grow. But don't let our market position fool you into thinking we answer to a board of directors or shareholders. We don't. We answer only to our family of users. And maybe to Slash.

Let's do a shoot out!

:hihi:

Just a moment...........just a moment...........there is a fault with the AE35 unit......

No offense to the OP, but it's kind of a bogus premise (in my opinion, of course). At one extreme, nothing is an exact replacement. At the other, any native plug-in that is supposed to be same model or type (Pultec or tape machine for examples) is a candidate. All that's in between is opinion. That is valid, though, I suppose. So, maybe bogus is too harsh. How about difficult?

Anyway, you could have a list of all the Pultec and tape plug-ins, etc. and people could vote on how close they in their opinion to whatever UAD plug-in. You could do shoot outs, as has been done, usually to little value (for me, anyway), or it could be a free-for-all fact and opinion cage match like this, complete with the participants beating each other with their metal folding chairs and banquet tables.

When you've been at it as long as I have, you realize ONE THING. Personal taste has much to do with things :)

@pultec: I sold nobel q (though it's a fine product) and won't (even with the new transfer fees) likely sell the bundle with the IK version. I loved the URS version, I do NOT like the nomad version. Just as an example.

Ik stuff is awesome I agree but at the same time it is kinda bad marketing just attacking it like that.
but yes Ik has some pretty impressive stuff I would say they do deserve a look. The only problem I have is the cpu hit. its a bit to much at times. but its quality there is no doubt. waves has good things so do so many others, honestly I dont know why anyone needs a million emulations of a million things just get a few good eqs and comps a good limiter and you got most of what you need. Just get a good reverb and delay stuff like that and you are golden

Brian, it was pretty much mentioned on the first page already. Not only by me, but by several other users as well.

I definitely admire your effort to boost sales, but it's really a turnoff lately. ObiK for example at Gearslutz saying that the "Classic Series" are all CALREC ports, even though Peter (and certain other IKM members) said different to me pesonally.

People are aware of your tools, people are discussing it themselves. There is no need to bust into every thread and make a sales announcement or say "ours are the best tools". Your tools are good, but this is slowly taking the same route as a certain firm with a capital C. Don't do that please.

Speaking of which, where is ARC2? And when can I beta test?

Oh, I've been there with my list. Wasn't funny...

See, to me the NobelQ is just an aim at Pultec, and I personally prefer the Nomad Pultec over the IKM one, if I use it (which is rare). Then again, I also use G-Sonique's Pultronic (which wasn't updated in a while).

So there you have it. Full out personal opinion slugfest.

Is it possible to use ARC2 for fake rooms/studios via headphones?

It's not actually legally incorporated? That's odd.

I seem to remember predicting that eventual outcome to this thread back on page 1 or 2. :hihi:
