Yeah, right... 'cause it's sooo much of a compressor... 8)

(Nothing wrong with SKNote though, perfectly fine developer, only have positive experience with them.)

Actually it is a set of two plugins and only one of them contains a compressor (including five different algorithms - amongst them SSL, 1176 and LA2A emulations).

Good thing you got yourself thoroughly informed before resorting to sarcasm...

If you had such positive experiences with Sknote then you maybe should also now and then have a look at their products. :hihi:

Regarding SKnote,I've had my eye on the Gates GTS-39 Compressor for a while now.

The GTS-39 gets great reviews but they're currently updating lots of its features so I've held back on purchasing for now.

Damn good price though,as ALL plugins should be.

Stillwell Rocket makes stuff the loudest at the same actual outpet level. It enhances percieved loudness very well. +1 from me.
Has anybody ever really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

its a channel strip and a compressor 2 plugins one console emualation with soft ducking and smooth eq.
then a compressor for but or channels on the other. its a great plugins I would recommend it. it sounds great I love the new opto mode it has
also I second Ik Multimedia. the vintage emulations are amazing. they dont saturate like you might want though. even though they claim to be just like the real thing. the waves one saturates alot more like how you can with the real thing. But the Ik one sounds good almsot anyware. for saturating sounds I use my sknote GTS its amazing for that

SKnote is an interesting operation but the lack of downloadable demos is mostly a deal killer for me (I did go for Roundtone for the intro price, though).

Agreed, his prices for his more recent work are very attractive, though.

the reson he does not do demos is because He does not want to waist time and coding on copy protection. even though its small it dose add cpu use to the plugin. but yea I get that it took me a while to get em. but after roundtone and presence I just got hooked the plugins are great quality and the price is retardedly low for what you get.

I suggest you guys check out DC8C, this thing is amazing. Such a light compressor until you get under the hood, then it can really be a beast. So glad it got suggested, it got purchased yesterday.

Massive +1 for DC8C , and it's doing what I wanted from a FET (Parallel compression mainly)

I'd love to get the rocket again at some point, but it needs a lot of work to be 100% usable in Cubase.

I really don't understand this hype around DC8C? I tried it and wasn't that impressed, it's good, but not WOOOOW good.

its not a wow its more like. it can do rms soft hard knee. it has a million diforent things it can do and saturation. im not saying its the only comp in the world. I use it all the time and I use other all the time. its a great comp that can do alot for a good price that is the wow about it.

DC8C and DMG Compassion are the best two compressors that I know of now. These two can emulate everything absolutely great, as well. I love them!

Define a WOOOOOW Compressor ? The Glue is a wow compressor as it just works so well. Compassion is the same. I own a bag of compressors now and they just work well. And to me when something works well, thats WOW value. If it takes a long time to get where you need to be, then it's not worth it.

DC8C was quick to get a result from, and when in advanced mode, it delivered results I wasn't expecting and they were pleasing.

So yeah, it gets a wow from me.

Try Punch Compressor by Minimal System Instruments. Free with fixed Attack and Release or GBP9.99 for full version with variable Attack and Release. Great 1176 emulation and an absolute bargain imo.
