i guess regular buyers wouldn't be happy if they found out he's practically giving his plugins away for free...just sayin...hesnotthemessiah wrote:audington wrote:Really? The Ebay seller ID is 'paul_willocks' and a google search of the email address he used to receive Paypal payment leads to a DeviantArt profile for PAULW, which has a subtitle of 'Minimal Systems' and has numerous links to www.minimalsystem.comhesnotthemessiah wrote:No they don't.audington wrote:If you can't resist, Minimal Systems sell their 'complete' collection on CD ROM on Ebay for about £2.Doesn't it look dodgy to you?
Just some git on eBay making a quick buck by selling someone else's product and even having the cheek to say that Minimal Systems will offer support!! I checked with Paul Willocks at Minimal Systems who confirmed that he does not sell via eBay. Don't support thieves!!
This post from the official Minimal System twitter links to the same DeviantArt profile, bringing it full circle:
"@abduzeedo Hi I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at some of my work for your inspiration feature www.paulw.deviantart.com 12:42 AM Apr 23rd via web in reply to abduzeedo"
If it's a guy ripping-off someone else, they've gone to extraordinary lengths to look convincing - to earn £2 (minus costs!) at a time.
I contacted Paul Willocks via his contact link on the MinimalSystem site just over a week ago to ask him if the listings on eBay were legit. He replied:- "The listings on ebay not legit. Many thanks for pointing this out. I will contact the seller and discuss."

The funnier is when you read comments with 5 stars on front images...with no link or name to know WHO made the comment because it is himself

This actually features the same "1176" algorithm from the punch compressor but for free. It has the same attack, release and ratio settings. I had a good chuckle because I was tempted to buy punch because its actually a decent dynamics compressor without any analog modeling or anything rapped up in a shiny Gui for £9.99. If you can live without the UAD style Gui then you can download it for free on this. You can even compare them both and Im betting they are exactly the same, just like all the others(probably)

its been a while since I tried it, but it is a fantastic multi fx plug in, I think if you just use the compressor on its own you will get the same. I know Dynamics wise it is as fast as punch, especially for slamming drums with, very similar controls though, I think they are identical. The bitcrusher and distortion really fatten sounds up and then you have a delay as well, not bad for free!

Just to give you guys a heads-up, reviving really old threads is sort of considered a no-no around here (can sometimes irritate the mods). I know the policy varies from forum to forum (on Gearslutz they prefer you to bring back old threads rather than start new ones).
Here they prefer that you just start a new thread on a certain topic if you want to reopen it for discussion and you saw a really old thread about it. I think the only big exception is when developers start up old threads about their own products to announce updates.
