Just out of curiosity, which would be better suited for producing electronic music with?
Price wise they are almost on par..
Well for me I could buy
Alloy + Ozone 5 Advanced for $1,285.13
OR
Solid State Logic Duende Complete $1235.10
I am very serious about learning how to mix and master my own stuff, and Im kind of looking for a good quality toolset for learning.
I think price wise that for what you get, its more than worth it in the long run.

Ozone is more of a Mastering thing, the Duende stuff is more Mixing-oriented.
I don't think either's better or worse, as the both are actually quite different.

Right now most of the tools I have for mixing is stuff that comes with Ableton & Logic, but I want to have something that helps my mixes stand out. I also use the DCAM Dynamics bundle which is great too.chokehold wrote:Ozone is more of a Mastering thing, the Duende stuff is more Mixing-oriented.

I think going with the Duende Complete bundle might be the best, then send my finished tracks to a mastering house.

There's no need for any of that, Xaviero. [edit: I mean, apart from the built-in Logic and Live stuff.] That's just overkill, man! I just read your introductory thread here, and got the same impression. Time and skill is all you need...Xaviero2012 wrote:Right now most of the tools I have for mixing is stuff that comes with Ableton & Logic, but I want to have something that helps my mixes stand out. The stuff in Live and Logic are pretty good, so I probably should just use those and learn to mix better. I may just have to buy the SSL Duende Essentials bundle tho, because its basically the same Bus compressor and channel strip as you get in Reason, and I really enjoyed the sound.

You may want to check out some freebies, they're every bit as good as that. Or maybe even gooder...Xaviero2012 wrote:The stuff in Live and Logic are pretty good, so I probably should just use those and learn to mix better. Maybe you should head over to Groove3.com and spend thirty-something Dollars on o month of their All-Access pass. They have some of the best tutorial videos I know of, and even I -after mixing for over 10 years now- regularly find something interesting that I didn't know of yet.
Really, I don't think you'll be disappointed. But you'll have to watch and watch and watch a whole lot of videos, digest all the information and then practice on your own material.
Might be money spent more wisely.
