If you don't mind dongles, there is also Filterfreak from the Soundtoys Native bundle which is very very good.

I will definitely be getting that bundle in the near future ;)

I have my eye on the UAD Apollo, it looks impressive and that Moog Multimode filter is very tempting.

The UAD Moogfilter drive circuit is exceptional.

meh.

go invest in a few analog modular filters and send it digital LFOs. SilentWay not required (in some cases).

The sonalksis filter has absolutely beautiful resonance. That thing is just so musical, but damn it's expensive for something that is so inflexible.

However, the fabfilter volcano is a work of art too. Very flexible and sounds amazing.

UAD MoogFilter & Ohmboys Quad Frohmage are both awesome!
When Cytomic finally releases The Drop it will also be part of my filtering arsenal. ;-)

Here's hoping :tu:

Really like Frohmage, beats all freeware filters imho so Quad Frohmage should be that much better.

Other free filters I like are Deltafilter, Minion and of course the TAL filters.

Xfer's LFO Tool has a mean filter in my opinion, but is not freeware.

Frohmage is very good. I keep having to remind myself to use that one.

I had a look while researching my 10 Best Filters list, and it would be amazing to try out - but without a DSP card, not possible right?
I heard the UA EMT 140 reverb plugin though, and wept...
How does the Minimonsta filter (which I love) compare to the UA plugin, anyone know?

UAD plug-ins can only ever run on a UAD card or their rackmount unit.

You might try searching YouTube for demos of their plug-ins, though. People post them for some things.
