They surely are not forcing anyone to buy, BUT, will future upgrades have new instruments or effects without being an RE extension to pay for beside the upgrade fee? That's not technically forcing but rather exploiting....

Cmon, that's just outsourcing. I suspect that with other devs generating revenue for them they can focusing on updating what's already in the box making it a more compelling choice.

They certainly need to improve RV7000.

If any of you had read the OP you would realise that the OP really isn't pissed at Reason as a program but at PH for making a new Plug in format that the developers now spend time on instead of concentrating on bugs in their VSTs.That means that in principle he should be pissed at the developers who port their VSTs to REs and neither PHs new format nor Reason as a program. This may be a valid point from an egotistic point of view ( I remember the same member complaining about DEVs spending time on making iPhone apps instead of VSTs in another thread) but from other just as egotistic point of views concentrating on VSTs instead of REs or Apps may be just as offensive.

Let us get something straight, namely that if you choose the whiner approach, you can always find things to complain about instead of enjoying what already is. In this thread it seems that some complainers already have sold their Reason but still haunts every possible threads about Reason with complaints that now should be irrelevant to them. Some of these complaints are even bizarre like " PH promised not to put audio tracks into Reason and now they have" as if this reduce the present functionality of Reason :nutter:

I' ll bet that the same persons actually haven't made much music with Reason in the first place but have spend most of their time complaining about lack of tjis and that feature at the PH forums since the day the got it. And now that they have sold it, they suffer from the addiction of complaining and just can not help themselves going to these threads and cry all over it. Poor bastards. For all I have read in this thread so far only I few things really qualify as complaints given that you research the concept of Reason and try out the demo before buying it. Simple as that.

Cheers

No amount of whining about the whiners whining about Reason is going to stop the whiners whining.

Or summat.

I just see RE's as another choice for them.

This is almost like the whining that went on when Sonar X1's PC got those expandable tools as well. No one is forcing anyone into buying the things if they don't need them....

It took you 10 years as user and three times as betatester to reach the conclusion that Reason doesn' t support VST? :-o

Couldn' t you just have checked the feature list or demo before buying it?

Yes, they exploited me for $1 for version 6 and nothing for version 6.5 all while introducing new devices.

If they do that for every update they can feel free to exploit me 12 times a year if they like.

Seriously, exploitation? Come on man. It's a piece of freakin' software.

Oh yeah, I have no issues with Reason as an audio application other than the fact that it's decided it needs it's own very special plug in format. Support VST2 and 3 like a man and be done with it.
