Cool !! :tu:

Based on how much is already possible with the current fartures i could hardly imagine what will be possible with the final version...

Purchased...why can't we also design shapes by hand?...creating points on graph and modifying them?
Can you please add this?
I'm not a mathematician :)

I imagine that with some of the new features we're adding, you'll be able to create a really unique library of waveforms and such :) I'm very interested in seeing the morphing/wavetable features included. Another thought is a more advanced preset/searching/tagging system, but I think that will be after most of the actual waveform editing/conversion features are added.

Node editing was most voted for, so that will be added next :) This is actually the top 5 feature requests:

- Node Editing features
- Alchemy export support (LFO/OSC)
- Random waveform export support
- SFZ/multisample support
- Corona, Circle export support

These features should make it much more usable for a lot of people :) Also, those who have already tested the 0.3.3 version, definitely send any bugs/issues in to support[AT]teamdnr[DOT]net or use the support form on my page.

rlahalla wrote:I'm not sure what "independent parameter/array of curves" means. Could you elaborate?
The independent parameter is used for morphing waveforms.

Assume we have the following scenario:

We want to morph from a sine wave to a cosine wave in n=10 steps.

The Wave Designer could increment a parameter t from t0=0 to t1=1 in steps of n/(t1-t0)=0.1
When using the formula ((1-t)*(sin(2*pi*x))+(t*cos(2*pi*x))) one gets ten waves with the first being a sine, the last being a cosine and some blended wave form in between.

I have some further ideas for built-in functions:

First I'd like to see a pow() function with pow(x,2) being x^2, pow(x,-1) being 1/x and pow(x,0.5) being the square root of x.

Next: What about poly(x,a1,a2,...) with poly(x,1,2,-3,4) being 1+2*x-3*x^2+4*x^3?

Hey Heiko, thanks for the explanation, good stuff - I'm running out the door for a few, but I'll take a look over your info and respond shortly. I forgot POW, which will definitely be in there as well :)

Shouldn't be too long, just need to fix some things on the interface with mouse-over states and such.

For anyone who didn't already know, the developer of the software is Shannon from One Small Clue, who also created the Poise drum sampler :)

Yes, wavetable and morphing functionality! :wheee:

Bought! :D

Format request for wavetables: ConcreteFX Kubik, it uses something called aws for wavesets which contains up to 64 waves with 64 partials each (amplitude and phase).

Perhaps a slightly more obscure one: Is there the slightest chance for modifying WNAdditives RAW files? They are read as 128 positions each composed of 128 sinewaves/partials, and I'd like to chose position number so and so and make a morph to another position - for instance from position 3 to position 19. If you want to add functionality for editing RAW files, BMPs and such for use with additives (possiply someone who uses Alchemy or other additive softsynths would like this) then perhaps it wouldn't be much work to just add the little bit of extra functionality for use with WNAdditive. I imagine it can be done by combining RAW file editing with what you're programming for wavetable use somehow, but I'm not a programmer so probably shouldn't speculate too much. Fingers crossed though! :)

And, some mode for keeping whatever one is doing to being composed by so and so many partials to ensure we will be kind of certain how it will sound when resynthesized by some of those synths that insist on resynthesizing every wav you load into them. Otherwise full functionality, just with the wave "limited" to being built up by x partials at all times - would that be possible?

I don't know yet exactly how it will all be implemented, but I will be working to put together a more concrete gameplan for those features once we get a majority of the single-cycle creation features in place :)

Not just node editing, freehand drawing.

Yeah, freehand is going to be included too, though node editing will make it in shortly before freehand does :)

Sorry if I'm asking a bit much, really excited about this.. :D

It seems something isn't quite right when loaded in Orion 8.5, the GUI seems terribly truncated with some boxes barely halfway visible (sorry about the size, couldn't find a way to resize with Imgur)..

Hmm.. that's new :? We'll look into that for sure. Could you shoot me a support message HERE and just let me know your specs and stuff so I can keep track of it?

Just a quick heads up that I've extended the pre-order another week until we get a few things fixed properly for users. Hopefully we can get it all set by then and start moving into the next phase with node editing and multisample creation stuff :)
