If it's any consolation, it was kinda discovered when doing the SWS extension tut. He's a on a mac, maybe the mac version is better, maybe I'm just cursed (most likely considering my history) but since the other dude mentioned it, I just thought I'd tack it on.liquidsound wrote:I hope all these things are deeper than the level I will reach in Reaper, but the zooming so far is great on my part.![]()
The extensions look interesting though....
Those tutorial were really needed, and now I understand your grip on Reaper. Quite powerful and chameleonish.
I'm beginning to like it.

Coming from early energyXT stages, I'm ready for any calamity on its way
Thanks for the warning, but so far reaper looks brighter than my first immersion month with it.
If you have any tips on resources for proper learning of the beast, please share when possible.

Jorgen is working on v3.0, but who knows.
The latest mini synth for xt (a month ago?) is probably the only sign of life and it looks like coming from a long coma stage

Logic handles MIDI really fu**ing amazingly well.h2ogun99 wrote:For those who know both DAWs well, are there any key features that Logic has that I might find myself stumbling on, and missing in Reaper down the road? Reaper's MIDI completely sucks.

Is anyone else on OSX having sound issues? Audio output seems to be breaking up even though I keep increasing the buffer request size and the CPU is only around 5-10%...

Too harsh. It's functional and works. Sure it leaves some features to be desired, but "completely sucks" is not a correct quantifier here, which shows how biased you are.Andywanders wrote:Reaper's MIDI completely sucks.

I have Studio One and I would LOVE to have some of Reaper's midi functionality there. IMO Reaper's midi is not that bad.

I just bought license for reaper, I have been on and off playing with the demo a bit, I am running 64bit, it is not as smooth and easy as Studio one or Reason but truth be told it just keeps going and runs anything you throw @ it, mix and match anything and everything 32 bit 64 bit, truckloads of pluggins multi multiple instances = yes no worries, I mean neither Studio One or Orion 64 runs 32 bit plugins... been playing a bit with the demo of Mulab... was considering it but that doesn't run 32 bit either etc, And I just bought Nexus last night too and that's 32 bit... my favourite filter (filterbank 3 free) is 32 bit as well and it is awesome I love it, so anyway I'm a brand new Reaper user now;)
Good stuff

I see loyality towards Reaper from several posters here, but I'm curious and I think others are too, but when compared to Logic (because the OP stated that) and from what I posted hereEvilDragon wrote: Too harsh. Can one of you guys post or show YouTube videos of something similar that Reaper can do the same thing.
I'm kind of curious to see what Reaper can offer in the MIDI stage.
Again, it's more of the OP asking if he's missed something in Logic which I have pointed out "The Enviroment" and now shown videos of that in that other thread.
Right now in my opinion, Logic excels in MIDI and I've shown that with more videos to come.
But if people are trying to convience people to try Reaper, talk is cheap, people need to post videos showing how it excels.
In my case, why would I even bother with Reaper if I can do what I'm doing in Logic with The Enviroment.
Plus the fact that people are so use to their DAW's that the learning curve to learn a new DAW is probably what's stopping them.
Unless you guys video post something that's better than sliced bread I doubt anyone is going to take you guys serious.

No dog in this fight personally but in fairness that's kinda asking for a pissing contest. If Reaper users start posting things Logic maybe can't do... then what? Example: Can Logic load a VSTI directly on a midi clip? (just asking, dunno)gabebrunogarza1021 wrote:Unless you guys video post something that's better than sliced bread I doubt anyone is going to take you guys serious.
It will only result in a contest to see who can pick the most cherries from their favorite toy.
Having said that, Logic is undoubtedly "c0-champion" for midi overall, along with Cubase.
