I had to re-authorize Sampletank Free, but everytime I try it says my IK authorize tool is outdated and needs to be updated. I auto download the update page it sends me to, but after installing, and going back to authorize STfree, it then gives the same "must update" message again. I tried several times with the same results.
IK multimedia is not worth the wasted hours I've spent with this f'ing authorize tool.
Although I have two other of their products...the free one is giving me the most hassles.
Unbelievable. I give up.
And those free sampletron sounds do not work with sampletron either.
They won't load, and a message "these are not sampletron sounds" comes up.
What a headache.
The sounds only load into ST. It's easier to use all the sounds in Sampletank; I haven't opened up the individual IK plugs in ages. It would be good if it was more clear that you need ST, though.
I wish I could sing as well as the voices inside my head...

Makes sense, but for some reason I don't have a combis folder. If I create one, where should it go, structurally, in the folder system, and what should be its exact title? Thanks, in advance :)

Post

I would definitely say yes to this for $29, but no way would I have ever bought it for its original price.

Post

(Figured out combi issue--up too late downloading!) Just wanted to say that I REALLY like these sounds--they just have a lot of character, and the deal is a great one, especially when you purchase through e-soundz and get their extras. Now Tron type sounds are NOT everyone's cup of tea, but for those of you who like them...you should jump on this.

I'd have to agree with that, I wouldn't pay a premium price for any SampleTank stuff right now. But $29 is a few cups of coffee, I'm very happy with the deal, and the sounds themselves are great.

I have a similar questions - How do I get the combis to work? Does the IK special even include combis? :P

Combis not included, but if you buy the whole deal through esoundz, you not only get a whole set of extra basic sounds free, but you can buy a set of combis for $10 ($20 regularly). If you stick the combis in the Preset folder for whichever GUI you are using to play the sounds (Sampletank or Sampletron), they should show up. They do in mine.

Well worth getting for $29, even taking account of Sampletank player quirks and problems.

Unfortunately, I learned about this offer too late... after I purchased off the IK site. :(

Will eSoundz let you buy just the combis for 10?

Post

I bought the SampleTron package from eSoundz at $29.99 + $10 for the combis. Eventually, I figured out that these sounds only load in SampleTank, not SampleTron. Very confusing.

But I did get a serial for SampleTron with the eSoundz purchase. Even more confusing. So, using this serial, I downloaded and authorised SampleTron from IK, only to discover that it apparently doesn't come with any sounds at all. The d/l was just 23MB and the SampleTron manual brags about 1.2GB of content!

So, where do I get the IK SampleTron content from? Or is it identical with the eSoundz stuff, even though it isn't recognised by SampleTron? What's going on? What's wrong with plain ol' clear instructions?

More and more frustrating.

Any clarifications from fellow KVR:ers would be much appreciated. ;-)

Best,

Joachim

The sample content is in your IK profile, but not in the same folder as the instrument(s) as I remember.

On the download page, where the links for the installers are, there is a link called Sounds under each product. Click that and it will reveal the download links for the library. It iIS totally confusing and this sort of thing puts people off, I'm sure. But they are there, they do work, and they sound great!

It's possible you missed the point of my post there.
The problem is that I can't get the Sampletank Free authorization to work. I did read that I needed STfree to run the free included sampletron sounds with, but the IK authorize app is broken for that one product, but not the sampletron plugin itself. It's very frustrating, as I still have no idea why even the "offline authorize" option, asks me to install the authorize tool, and still says it's outdated after installing it on my pc. Then it want's me to do it all over again. This kind of cr protection I don't mind, if it works.
Guess I'll try their support now.

I experienced the same thing. It seems that ST Free automatically installs the IK Authorizing app version 1.0.6, which is 'old'.

You have to go to the IK website and download version 1.0.7 separately, install it, and then it worked for me.
