And to Rob : You should really check Oxium, Aiyn has made some really deep trancy and dancy presets for it. I'm sure it would fit your style :)

LtZ
I'm sure he did.. his other banks iv'e heard are top notch judging by the audio demos.

I would pick definitely Z3ta.
funny, i USED to use massive; sold it. just got tired of it (and had some issues with it crashing...).

am playing with oxium; much to like about it. so, as it usually is, will just be a choice i make, instead of 'this one's better than that one'.

choices make life interesting...

I love it, very stable no issues, big modern sound... very flexible... some of the best NI synth IMO. Anyway, this was not the question and everybody has a different opinion :P
But Massive and Z3ta are closer than Oxium. Oxium is a completely different thing, different sound, different concept, different features etc. For Oxium I see more FXpansion, Diva and such synth in the same department. I will not say "competitors" IMO Oxium plays not in the same league than FXpansion Synth Quad or Diva.

i've been playing with it for a while today, like it. but...have not made up my mind. possible i'll just get one, then another day, the other. or...neither LOL. am not in NEED of anything, just in WANT...

massive was great, it was my first plugin. realized i needed new tools ie new inspiration. i LIKE changing my tools up periodically...

i like oxium but think i'm gonna give z3ta+ 2 the nod...for now. am a soundset junkie, and there's a lot of banks out there for it. still...if i don't like USING it...you'll see it in the marketplace within days.

thanx for comments all; rob lee: you're needed! (a soundset for the z3ta would be nice...)

I thought Cakewalk doesn't allow for license transfers? I never see any in the marketplace anyway. But please tell us how you feel abut it once you got it! Enjoy!

Z3ta+2 just kicks Oxium's ass in my opinion. It's not even close. I own Z3ta and tried the first Oxium demo and in my opinion there is just no comparison.........

Gotta agree with Rob.......I loves me some Rapture too.......

I finally got around to having lots of time with Rapture and it's just superb in every way IMO. Lots of nice features and lovely to program.

Hi Fisher,

I created some of the factory presets in Oxium. I've had Z3ta+ for a long time and z3ta2 for a while. I highly recommend Oxium for these reasons:

1) It is very well featured in terms of modulation slots and destinations, not as much as Z3ta2 but enough to make it truly useful.

2) Beyond that it has LeMask, which is also very interesting and lets you do a lot and have a lot of fun (I think it's fiddly though)

3) It's filters are sublime.

4) It's glowing Orange GUI will actually brighten your day (once you get used to it)

5) You can demo it

6) Imo It really does sound much better than Z3ta+2, but they also have different strengths.

But demo Oxium anyway. Z3ta+2 should sound much the same as z3ta+ from what I gather (I've not loaded either of them for a while now) and Z3ta+ is available all over the place, either cheap or free with magazines.

Sure,

It is fully stereo ( not pan, true stereo ), and feature wise it has some unique fones, like intelligent feedback info for every patch, intelligent preset management ( find the patch you need in seconds ), 3 complex lfos with cumulative waveforms, 3 sophisticated envelopes -looping features-, a polyphonic arpeggiator, and A/B comparisons with a real JP8 showed some very interesting things ( more on this later )

For this analogue sound FXpansion Synth Squad is my favourite. Diva is ok, but it's a resource hog. Using it with Unison lets explode my CPU :D Similar sounds (for pluck, stacks etc) with Unison is no problem with eg. FXpansion Strobe and this synth from the bundle sounds amazing (IMO a bit between SH-101 and Juno).
Also in this department is the Arturia Oberheim SEM. Unfortunately it has no Unison (yet) but great filters and a distinct sound. Very nice for all kind of arps, plucks and stuff and it's very easy to program. Works IMO better for more actual tracks than some of this Minimoog emulations.
There are always some options ;)
