more nonsense.

The inventor of the mouse, Doug Engelbart, invented it with one button.

Before the Mac was released, Apple tested multiple mice with differing numbers of buttons, but came to the conclusion that beginners found it easiest with one. Even early versions of Windows only relied on one button.
honestly the answer is in what you said beginners love one button. like some of those crazy mouses that super experts have that have like ten button on em. to crazy for me. I have two buttons and my scroll wheel

I agree to be honest its because less and less people are even musicians. look like if all you do it get beats already made by someone and just put them in a order those toys is all you need and thats all most people do now. I know this chick she is a DJ I have known her for years. you know what she does. hits play on her ipod shuffle. Me I have been playing guitar since I was 12. after high school I went to school to learn classical guitar to be a teacher. after a while I went to school for audio tech. see the difference. I cant use a toy because I want to work on audio. most good DJ's at least have a good sense of how to get a feel down. but nowadays I have seen people who just click preset then preset a arpagiator and there they made a song. I don't like midi but you know what anyone who can use a keyboard and make music is a creative person to me. I have always been a PC guy. they where easy to hack when I was a kid. :hihi:
and you can customize em a lot easier. its like how some "producers" as they call themselves now. buy a macbook air and say they are DJ has no nuts with there pants that have been proven to cause health issues now.

PS this is not pointed at you as a insult its explaining why its turning into a toy. its a expensive toy to rich kids now. when I said you I ment as in the person who is that. just to be clear :)
I just wish PC and mac can see that they need to both become stable efficient and versatile

I switched to mac in 1998 because cubase vst on windows 98 was kind of a nightmare...
But nowadays things are so different... on windows you have 80% instruments and software more than on mac and windows 7 has no "crash" issues like old times. At least, i cannot see any difference at all, apart some better things on windows and more freedom.

Just looking for advice on a macbook pro for production, which one is recommended? Does screen size matter?
thanks
I have a 15"inch screen, and that seems to work for me.
Best if you try them out in the store, if that is available to you.
i7 macbook pro, 8gb ram, and you'll be good.
The soundcard that comes with it, is good enough for most music production needs imo.
joecc wrote: I dont' understand this, I thought Logic costs about 500 dollars?
here you can download it, much cheaper?
Yes, Logic Pro is now $200usd download only. The full version.
You can just ignore what another poster posted about it being $500usd, as it is only 200.
You can just ignore that users posts altogether, as said user is clearly just an apple hating troll, making exaggerated, and false statements on the subject.

I doubt it, otherwise you wouldnt have said something very different

Why are you repeating something that was false as though it hadnt just been pointed out to be false.

excuse me, sir... but my logic studio box contains logic pro, mainstage, seven apple jams and other programs (which i never use). I guess the "logic pro" for 200$ on applestore is what in the box is contained in dvd nr.1. Maybe i am wrong, but if you want all things you have in logic studio, you have to spend 500$.

No, but the fact that you're keep claiming bollocks about stuff you know nothing about is why you claimed the single-button mouse was Steve Jobs' idea:

i am not saying apple is lame, i just think it is all marketing and fanboysm, nowadays. Once was different, you had to buy a mac if you wanted to play computer music with professional results without issues. And you had to pay a lot of money. Nowadays you pay extra money for things you can do well and sometimes better on a pc. Besides, PC offers at least 70-80% more in terms of software, plugins, imstruments and freedom of choice. And PC mice have two buttons, not one :D (thanks to Job's genius :hihi: )

No you are incorrect.
The $200usd Logic Pro that can be purchased and dl'ed off the app store is the same as your $500 disk version.
I have Logic8 disk version, I got for $100usd used, right here at kvr, and I don't need 9.
