i OWNED massive, it was my first plugin; just needed to change things up. and, as suggested in this thread: diversion, i REALLY like that one; just waiting for the mac version.

anyway, for now, am happy. and today we're in the studio all day, so will incorporate z3ta into 'the mix'...
All the best for your future mixes FisherKing, its just that with a Vs thread, even if I think the two shynths are barely comparable, peole might want to show different sides of what the resp. synths can do I think.

seriously, i like oxium, it's at the top of my next list (that, and diversion). but am a preset-whore (i MAKE music, and TWEAK sounds mostly), so appreciated the wealth of soundsets available for thre z3ta+2...

i got what i needed too from this thread; opinions about both plugins. thank you all :D

Padmix2

Quick and dirty mixed and added some drums and a Nord lead for the intro. Z3ta is using the preset from the free Bigtone lib I mentioned before. The preset is named "Blubbersweet BT". IMO this gives some idea about the strong sides of Z3ta. It's a different beast and not comparable with other synth.

Rob
Yeah, Rapture has loads of options, pretty cool stuff.

I do like Z3ta2 though...

_leras wrote:Zeta2 is a great synth. Simple layout, really powerful sounds. Lovely filters.

Can't go wrong really....
It's just a matter of taste as with any synth. I just don't like it as much as i love Rapture.

Rob
How do you know if you just flicked through 25 sounds.....?

Zeta2 has really good bass. Excellent trance pads if that's your thing...

The 'vintage' waves make for some really nice sounds.

and it's posisbly the most punchy of all soft synths...

Cause i get bored clicking easily! It's my own personal taste that counts and i just don't like the synth!
I just wanted to hear some of the factory sounds that's all.. quite nice IMO. Nuff said, if you like it then use it, i don't so i won't.

Rob..Sorry to get you confused with Xenos...My sincere apologies there...

But you should check out Big Tone's programming for Z3TA+...

As a programmer yourself - I'm sure that you would appreciate his fine skills..

You would also know - being a recent convert to Rapture - that he programmed a ton of those sounds too....

Don't dismiss Z3TA+ so easily...Try another 25 sounds and dig in !

It was originally going to be a hardware synth and it's a funking monster

I did check BigTones sounds mate.. his were the ones i was referring to.. at the moment i'm too much into Rapture but ok i will have another try at Z3ta2 it's only fair i look deeper into it before making assumptions.
I apologize :-)

I think that you'l find some things you like inside Z3TA+2...

Especially if you're a Virus fan - but let's not get started on that one

Rapture and Z3TA+2 compliment each other really well...

Where Rapture is "rather refined" (said with a high brow English accent) - Z3TA+2 is a little "rough" and has less manners...

It has attitude and it can really cut through and kick arse :band:

Thanks Rob ;)
Z3ta/Massive is a strong combination for all styles
(no, it's not only for trance :P)
