@Rob
Maybe I'm wrong but is Rapture the first synth René developed after he (rgcaudio) was acquired by Cakewalk?

Well Rapture is one of my favourite synths for sure. I'm using it right now in standalone mode playing about with it.. amazing sounds can be had from this.4damind wrote:@Rob

Z3ta2 which i purchased last month was neglected as was Rapture at first but a deeper look at both has changed my mind espescially toward Z3ta2..
Will have another play tonight

Oxium sounds amazing. I have no idea what you guys who are "meh" about are on about. Comparing it to zeta is definitely a bit silly, probably they would compliment each other nicely.. totaly different synths. Trying to decide which one to buy is one thing, but beyond that..
I'm going to be bold and say I agree that Oxium is a direct competitor with Diva. Im trying to decide between the two right now.
Oxium is a little more advanced in the programming department, which I like..
The moment I realized how great Oxium is, was when I programmed one o my favorite style of patches: a Rhodes-ey type of sound that employs high resonance of the filter along with ~100% key tracking on the cutoff. This is a very demanding type of patch that will really bring out shortcomings in the filter. I was very impressed with the way Oxium handled it.
Some one said it sounds dull. Well, it does sounds less present and smoother in the high end, but so what? I threw a good eq on it and boosted the highs and it sounded wonderful.
To each his own I reckon

i only started this thread as those 2 plugins were the ones i was considering. my own take on it (after DEMOING) oxium, and now owning z3ta+2 is...they both have their merits. they're different enough. i'm happy with my purchase, am loving z3ta. if i'd purchased oxium...i'd make THAT one work for me.
it's apples and oranges, whatever. it is, as stillshaded points out above: "to each his own".
there are no real bad plugins (only bad music..)

Yep. Could be some pre-eq trick inside the synth to force a bit this "analogue" behaviour. I don't think it must be sound dull per design but this is some difference some people will hear.stillshaded wrote:Some one said it sounds dull. Or time to realize that different people have different opinions......if you're going to skip out that easily then KVR is not the place for you.......The Learner wrote:when someone describes a synth as dull and lifeless what you know is the absolute opposite, then its time for me to realize this a zeta 2 club. I thought you might be back.....rob_lee wrote:
Ok i was trying Z3ta2 out last night more in depth so i'm back cap in hand lol.
Seems that a deeper look at the synth shows that it's very powerful indeed. Factory presets are really nice too.
Ok then time to have Z3ta and Rapture sitting alongside one another in my mixes.. please disregard my previous comments on Z3ta2 they were unjust

People who think VSTs sound like real deal analogue are nuts! This will shake your house down!!
So true however there's only one synth i can say sounds like the above quote but i won't open a can of worms here hehe..

Because it sounds "Meh" to me......Every night I try the early demo and every night I come to the same conclusion. Mind you I own about every synth from Albino to Zebra2 so I'm getting harder and harder to impress.....stillshaded wrote:Oxium sounds amazing. At this point I'll skip Oxium and save up for DIVA.........

Rob don't do it! It's not worth it.. I have an sh-09 which is very similar. It sounds beautiful yes, but I think software is closing the gap quicker than I expected. If you're like me and appreciate being able to automate everythin and bag your settings saved with each project, hardware will have less and less o an edge the more time goes by. Just my opinion, of course.
If you really want an analog why not hold out for a mini brute? way cheaper and midi. I believe u can automate all parameters too.
