I can not commit in any legal sense to what the future holds perfectly as I do not have a crystal ball that tells me all the micro/industry/macro issues that will pop up over the next year. However, I can at this point say we do NOT antipcate B2 will go below the current intro pricing for the foreseeable future baring some unforeseen event that I have no control over...antithesist wrote:Thank you for the information about license transfer and copy protection. The question above remains. It may not seem important, but I've probably been cumulatively burned more from this issue than the other two. I guess I should also ask if you foresee the possibility of a group buy, and if so, within what timeframe? Thanks!antithesist wrote:I'll be a first time 2C buyer too, when and if I buy, that is.
I know you probably can't say for certain, but is it safe to say B2 won't be cheaper than this intro offer for the next year, for example if there are holiday or other sales?
anyway, ever if there was some promo that saved $25 bucks or similar in 9 months from now, is it really worth waiting 9 months to save $25 while everyone else now has a 9 month head start on using it?
So, it's not really a fair question for the (12 month) time period you ask, but I say from what I see as of today I believe this will be true, yes...
I can also say, that we try VERY hard not to do indefinite promos, or have a new one every over month... We like intro promos. We like holiday promos just to say thanks at the of the year. We offer the promo now on Aether, and Breeze b/c we wished we have 64-bit OSX ready for them in time for B2 launch, but it did not occur. Otherwise we do not try to invent some new promo every other week. Our prices are our prices, and many people are happy to pay the full asking price. We don't want to upset them.

Just have to say that B2 is ridiculously good and versatile, and it is distinct from Aether and Breeze as far as I'm concerned. It will take me a while to fully understand it but it sounds incredible, as do it's 2C predecessors.

That all sounds good enough for me. I appreciate your candor. I'll keep demoing, though I am watching for possible reverb developments from IK over the same period and Relab seems to be in motion again. We'll leave those and Valhalla, etc. for the inevitable "vs." threads. I'm looking forward to B2 vs. Rodan and the like. It's down to the intro sale, a future sale or maybe a pass for me. But whichever, it looks like you've got a winner here. Oh, and I'm used to giving others at least a nine month head start, longer if I'm hibernating.Galbanum wrote:I can not commit in any legal sense to what the future holds perfectly as I do not have a crystal ball that tells me all the micro/industry/macro issues that will pop up over the next year. If a company would commit to something like this in an official forum it would give diminishing returns on probably most future sales up until that given time frame. I've also picked up software once or twice that lured me into thinking that it was a special promo just to find out that they just constantly push their own product into next to worthless land (just because they seem to be more eager to sell in quantity). However they are quite few and can easily be spotted in the market place constantly (2CAudio never do like this). I am not concerned that 2CAudio will lower their prices on their catalog further down the line. My concern was that they instead was heading the path of doing their old software obsolete. Or trying to gain momentum from a new user base without giving their old customers more. If done right the old user base will be the greatest investment when it comes to promoting once software.antithesist wrote:Thank you for the information about license transfer and copy protection. The "Stronger" companies believe in their software and focus on giving promos to the user base they already. And as I said in an earlier post "The customer is the company" almost nails it. We where quite a few people whom both here and at another site felt that it was a promo more directed to the new customer base or they whom had not bought so deep into the 2CAudio catalog. My calculating mind read the customer mail-out like those whom only got the "new kid on the block" Breeze was the clear winner and for the rest of us there was nothing in it. Should there have been a ladder of rebates to be found I find it hard to believe that we should have seen anything other then cheerful congratulations and praises for all the hard work that went into it, and for 2CAudio to give us all another winner. I also said that it does not matter if someone tries to tell you that you should not be upset or feel like you've been cheated. If thats how you read a presentation then it is what it is.

Good stuff. I do like those textures on the rhythm. Sounds like you got a combo flanger-phaser going on. Is that ALL B2? No native Tremor FX at all, only beats?Sampleconstruct wrote:Running one of my Tremor Beats through B2, automating the room size...

Was thinking of bouncing that for here but guess what...I did it again. I was changing an engine preset on the B side to give a little plate behind it but somehow forgot to switch to the B engine before I chose a Breeze plate template... and poof. Then it was bedtime. I should've save the engine preset.
Yes, I bypassed all the FX in Tremor and only used on instance of B2, all the flanging and combfltering is inside B2 as well as the gated sort of reverb, by automating the size of one of the engines I get the synced delay effect and different sorts of flanging/combfiltering. The gating functionality works very well in B2.

Bassflute meets B2 - a more delayish experiment automating the Damp parameter of one of the engines for the sweeping effect:

Bass flute is a fantastic instrument. Reallly like the tremelo you can get out of these. Reminds me of Jethro Tull's style whenever I here the rapid tremelo in wind inst. It makes nice fodder for delay/reverb with all the modulation in that sound. Good use of the Damping EQ. Host automation really takes units like B2 (or any 2C Audio FTM) into a whole other dimension of use. Wish I could play around today but got some things going on...maybe laterSampleconstruct wrote:Bassflute meets B2 - a more delayish experiment automating the Damp parameter of one of the engines for the sweeping effect:

I think an advanced LFO and a syncable MSEG would suit B2 very well - many parameters are wanting to be modulated, host automation is one thing but LFO synced and unsynced would make this an even more versatile FX unit.snigelx wrote:Bass flute is a fantastic instrument.
