In FL you can draw a freeform shape with the magic lasso tool, it's a nice feature.

BTW, it's interesting to see what features I haven't missed in REAPER because I didn't even know that they exist in other DAW's... :)

Off the top of my head, in order of importance:

Play Order Track (like Cubase)

Docked Midi Note Inspector (like Cubase & Sonar). Allows you to easily change all the major aspects of a note (or group of notes): velocity, starting and ending position, length, etc.

Built in Groove quantize. (I know there's an add on. Haven't tried it. Maybe it's adequate)

If it had these things when I was looking at Reaper, I would have switched from Cubase.

I haven't tried it, or maybe they ditched the idea but there was at least some work being done on having regions be "play order". Really don't keep up with pre release and haven't really cared to check the newest release.

good one

It works ok, other than it's crashed a few times. I was talking to fingers about it but he said something to the effect of "I don't have x64 so can't check the log" Don't know how it's progressed since then. One good thing about the sws groove tool though when it works.......it will do multiple clips!

Why? I've just wanted to crop your lawn so that you can see that I'm no kid any more with my 36 years...

I'd like to see a chord feature or plugin so you can turn single notes into chords without having to add each note. And the ability to audition chords before choosing one.

I'd also like Reaper to compose for me but maybe that's going too far...

Shouldn't be that hard. I mean, valhallaroom picks up my drycleaning and ubermod brings krispy kreme to each session........so why not? :D

Thesedays it's easiest to just link the Feature Request itself rather than wax lyrical about it.

"Elevated FRs" - e.g., where midi-related Reaper requests go to die...

Post

Well my FRs would be a couple from Studio One: groove quantize for both audio to and from midi, and pitch to midi ala Melodyne.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

Here's the video that introduces the magic lasso feature, at 3m18s:

THIS IS A LIE.

If ÜberMod was going to bring donuts, it would be bringing some high quality local Seattle donuts. Either Top Pot or Mighty-O. Top Pot is (dangerously) close to Valhalla Towers, while Mighty-O is across town, but Mighty-O uses organic ingredients and is the current fave with the Valhalla DSP staff.

I have avoided Krispy Kreme like the plague, ever since I worked nearby one in the early 2000s. There were drains on the street, clearly marked "NO DUMPING - FLOWS TO BAY" with a picture of a fish to emphasize that the drains led to San Francisco Bay. Several times, my coworkers and I found several pounds of vanilla glaze chunks dumped into the drains. It grossed me out.
