Mulabs MUX is for sale

The Note to Modulation Converter has a random output. Route it to Amp, Filter, Reso, Env, LFO, ... scale it and each note will sound different.Slarti wrote:The thing I find most lacking in Mulab and Mux is no 'Randomize' function for parameters!
I hope it will be implemented soon.

Cool! Possibilities seem endless now.. Especially combined with scripting stuff in Reaperbraj wrote:This is saving my arse right now:

At least preventing some pain. i still haven't bought the full version yet, waiting for funds, but now what was a routing nightmare is easy, and i have a 'system' down that is pretty painless. Even my desire for cistom scales in the Studio One piano roll are essentially fulfilled with this, i just write everything in C major and the MUX transposes to whatever key and scale I define, i can even change keys and scales after the fact if I'm not happy with something. It works marvelously with arps like Catanya. I just input a one-note progression, midiChords turns it into I-II-Ī-V-IV.... chords, then the midiScaleChanger changes the key and scales, feeds into Catanya and then into a synth. Then I can route it to a new track to write the midi permanently. i can then make changes like chord inversions that are all in key, anyhow MUX is awesome!
can we get some info on how to do this?

That is not what I mean. I need it to create & alter patches for VSTi and MUx (play editor). Up to now I have to use an extra plugin like Chainer for this.AndreasD wrote:The Note to Modulation Converter has a random output. Would be great if this were a DAW-functionality!

Well the chords in my default setup are just simple triads in c major, then these feed into scale changer and get transposed to whatever scale and key I choose, while still 'playing' everything from the piano roll in c major. You can either define inversions directly in midiChords first or after writing the output to the piano roll by recording what you play on another track (or in a host like Reaper recording the output coming after the MUX) you can then just manually add inversions in the piano roll by hand, but you will easily see what notes fit based on the original triads and can just add them then.memyselfandus wrote:"make changes like chord inversions that are all in key"braj wrote:This is saving my arse right now:

I am officially disabled and my brain can't think straight enough to remember or control my fingers well enough to play all the scales I want properly, so that's why I needed this sort of 'cheating' setup. But I figure it is no different than a wing player or harmonica player having different instruments with different tunings. I just use technology to give me a simplified keyboard but what keys I play is still dependent on my inspiration or lack thereof. Anyhow before MUX this was a pain in Studio One, Reaper actually can do this but that's not my host of choice anymore, again poor brain and wanting simplicity got me to S1 but the routing sucks, lucky for me here MUX is and so nicely resolving the issue!
Oh, and if you can live with the piano roll staying in c major and the plugin always transposing, you can change keys and scales for your composition at will whenever you like
