With regard to acoustics,I just meant hanging a couple of picture frames with cloth draped over them and place them behind the monitors.satYatunes wrote:Congratulations, Thom. Thanks a lot for your feedback. Floor is carpeted in the apartment that I am living in, unfortunately I cannot do any acoustic treatment to the walls.
The 4' cable is not shielded? Is that the main cable or the one that goes from one speaker to other?
By the way, how is your songs sounding on these speakers? Can you do a comparison with your other monitors?
I'm in an apartment as well,so I can't do anything that is considered "altering" my place.
As for my acoustic treatment in my studio(bedroom),I have foam panels.....but I've only place panels behind my monitors and in the corners of my room.
It's nothing major,as I just used thumbtacks to affix cardboard panels to the wall and then I glued the foam panels to the cardboard.
The un-shielded cable I was referring to,is the 1/8" speaker cable....but Radio Shack has a 6" shielded cable for $7.
I have Adam A7's and M-Audio BX5 D2's in my studio....but the main & noticeable difference between them & my Akai's,is that my bass-heavy tunes are boomy sounding on the Akai's,whereas the bass is tighter & punchier on my Adams & M-Audio's.
Apart from that, the mixes translate reasonably well.
