I now have to be tempted.......even though it's not a necessity
Just remember that it comes with a ton of presets to get you going too, so right out of the box you have a bunch of synths. If I were just starting out I would buy MUX and maybe just use freeware to add to its palette. It is a steal IMO.
I think you are correct. What a useful little gem. Much more demoing to do.

speaking of the synth, I'm trying out the "sequenced" presets and have run into the dreaded 'hit the next note and it sequences on it's own" problem. Is it just that I don't know this thing yet or is there not a way to have the sequence "sequence" regardless of when you hit a note?

I dunno, it looks like a lot of those patches use the multi-point envelope to do a gate sequence and I haven't figured that out really (actually just looking at it now). I personally am not delving into synth creation really as much as the chainer aspect, using my VSTs vs. the synth modules of MUX.

Just to be clear, you are talking about how the sequences are retriggered, and you want some sort of 'song position' mode so that when you change fingerings the sequence continues its rhythm without restarting, right?

I think we are on the same page.

If it's the multi point envelope you can open it and select the type of loop sequence you want it to play.
Hopefully this is what you are looking at.

I love that module. Like a multi stage envelope thing but in a modular context is lot of fun.

It looks to me like the multi-point envelops won't do what you are asking for actually. They start with a key-press, being envelopes, so whenever the key is pressed, they start. Maybe a dedicated trance-gate can be added to MUX. You can add one outside of the poly synth as a vst but apparently you can't drop a VST inside the MUX poly synth. I would try putting DiversionCM behind a VST maybe, that would give you crazy effects :) I'm doing that with Etch right now and it is cool, i still need to install DiversionCM on my new machine and try that out.

So, I've been pretty conservative lately, right? Not really oooing or aaaaaaing about anything? Kinda keeping a low profile, chillin'...........

OMG OMG OMG OMG!

Btw, is the license instant or do I have to wait for someone to process?

Or
How you spell KVR:

H
I
B
I
D
Y

:tu:

License @ Belgium time I think....But maybe not. I forgot!

I just wanted to know, thanks. I found a bug :hihi: ubermod/valhallaroom both can't access the "menu" in maschine x64. Chances that get's fixed are pretty slim I believe :hihi:

Any word about the VST going mac someday?

Well, I'm in.

I would recommend working with "building blocks"...

There are many many very helpful Vsts out there and by working with such blocks (means putting each section (Oscillator/Sampleplayer) in a Polysynth, respectfully (Filter and Amp section) in seperate "Basic Effects")

By working in this way, you have many advantages:

1. Better structure with better possibilities to save your own "Macros" for future use

2. Better possibilities to insert VST's where ever you want in the signalflow

!!!!!!Note, that you can map each control in MUX/Section to a midi controller, means i.e. every VST, which outputs Midi CC like for example the free Kirnu arp can modulate whatever Parameter you connect it to!!!!!!!!

3. Easier rearranging, if you want to change the signalflow

4. Better overview...

Here a little screenshot, what I mean:

+1 I definitely agree. I worked for a company that made automation testing tools, and we abstracted 'actions' (what you say 'macros') into separate blocks that could be reused wherever necessary. MUX is like a big abstraction layer for my DAW, and inside MUX there are further abstractions so this all makes great sense to me as i trained people how to abstract things out like this for our testing tool. It is so cool :)

After looking at that screenshot I'm curious to know (and too lazy to do it myself atm) what that patch sounds like. :)
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Absolutely. I work in 3d animation and most 3d/compositing apps work the same via node graphs. It really is the best work to do technical/creative work as you can re-use setups at will. Nodal setups and mindmaps emulate how the brain works and are naturally the best way to visualise the way data flows.

This is what attracted me to Mulab and Mux. You should also checkout Mulab as it takes it to the next level with the session mux. Reaper is my main DAW and is renowned for it's routing capabilities, but the session Mux allows you to go way beyond that as you can, for instance, setup your whole mix/routing and fx withing the one mux. Not that you will always need this higher level of control but it is nice when you are experimenting and can see the whole song layed out like that.
