Good to see these platform wars haven't changed in 8 years :hihi:

To liven the thread a little (as it has gotten stale in these 8 pages), I hate Apple but have a Macbook Pro because there are no PC laptops that really come close at the moment. Ask me anything!

me too here, alas. No similar PC laptops at the moment, but stupid apple policy, fanboysm, cheesy i-things, idiot prices, useless AUs, blurred fonts, one button mouse, foxconn... :?

Chase has a MacBook??

well doesn't that speak more volumes than myrna's 5 year old links to alleged font issues

To be fair, I do hate OSX. There just isn't a PC laptop with the formfactor/trackpad/display quality/battery life/webcam of the MBPs and there hasn't been for a while, and doesn't look like there will be soon.

Mac font rendering really is shit, though. And I do love the fanboys eating it up. It's blurry...uhh, like a book! :?

Or buy these models fully loaded from the factory so there's no reason to wish you could upgrade. As for environmental issues, Apple does pretty good compared to most of the computer industry. Recycling aluminum computer bodies is easier than trying to find someone to recycle the plastic cases of other machines (& I'm glad Apple stopped making their own plastic machines). I'm aware of the glued-in battery on the retina MacBook Pro and that bothers me, but that has more affect on the user getting the battery replaced (pay for service at Apple) than the environment (no doubt the glue is gross but so is the battery).
Now this is the kind of fanboism I come to Mac threads for!
Bravo!!

And another for Apples marketing team!!

I am almost crying loling at 'environmental issues'.
