What's your favourite Genre of music to create?

i'll try to explain.

finns are extremely depressed,that's why they have a huge support for music.

that one venue was actually one of the few to do it in a serious fashion, all the other organizers just do it sort of illegally. Fine by me, but the main man in the band, he was all for it, as he wants to deal "professionally".. We were in the process of setting up a co-op at the time but didn't make it in time, so we ended up doing some laundering...

And it's easier to set up gigs in your own home town, but a whole different thing to do it somewhere else and I think that really isn't a job for the performer. And if you organize regular gigs in your own home town, it ends up as a sort of gathering for friends anyway..

And the winter is really nice as well, the days can be short, but if it's a sunny day and you go for a walk on a frozen lake or on the sea or on some field for that matter, it's far brighter than any summer day because of the light shining back from the snow.

I find the autumn more depressing somehow, something to do with everything going into a standby-mode.

And yea, a lot of finnish music seems to be in minor key.

i think creating a new genre is much easier when working in a group.

I love the autumn, colored leaves, when the sun shines in the mountains and in the valleys and plains it's gray and foggy... But always at the beginning of February, when the snow is melting and it's wet-cold, I have a depression because I think when will the winter finally ends?

But by now, LET'S ENJOY THE SUMMER!

BTW, musically Tricky Loops loves everything except Schlager and Bavarian Folk Music...even Reggae, I'm a big Bob Marley fan, and I also like Max Romeo, gonna send him to outta space... and many others, too.

My music can't be described by ONE genre - I mix everything together, mostly it's some kind of dance- or chillout-music.

Yea, doing music together with people, both composing and performing, is really the way to go, for me atleast.. Too sad I'm on my own again. Interaction is really a special thing. Not that music by one person would be "dead music" though.

Tricky, yea the colors are nice, but the time the leaves fall and it's really just rainy and windy and moody, getting ready for winter, that time is rough..


edit: and yea, by now (or again!) I guess it's clear roots reggae is what I'm about, can't do any other way really. Lately I've been trying to do some arpeggiator techno but even those just end up as UK style dub..

Im just interested in what sort of genre(s) of music that everyone mainly focuses on. For me I really enjoy making Industrial, Electronica, Big Beat style stuff. I find myself producing lots of these styles and enjoying the sounds.



So what style or genre do you usually find yourself producing?

While I like to listen to just about any style, my favorite genre of music to make would be straight-up, percussion-dominant Techno as it focuses mainly on percussion, fx and sound design - the areas where I am more competent at.
