Oh be careful before upgrading, save off any presets you may have made, I just lost a folder of 4 I made earlier today. Not terrible because they are easy to recreate, but if someone make 100 then this would cause major issue with rage I'm sure of it :) so backup before upgrading!

Just mentioned this in my last post about the new update (see my last post) and reported to Patrick from TAL. :)

Good thing i made a backup before i installed the update...

UPDATE:
Patrick asked my by email if i could reinstall the latest update 1.54 again. If i do that the folder with my own presets seems to stay this time.
So basically people should do a backup of their before installing v1.54. With later versions this will be maybe not necessary but let's see.

UPDATE:
The old folder seems to be in a different folder here in Windows 32-bit.

The current presets are in:
C:\Users\*******\AppData\Roaming\ApplicationSupport\TAL U-No-LX\presets\

The old folder seems to be in:
C:\Users\*******\AppData\Roaming\ToguAudioLine\TAL U-No-LX\presets\

It says for OS X, does he know the issue also exists with Windows?
He does and i just got an email about a new update.
The fixed version is available here:

http://kunz.corrupt.ch/products/tal-u-no-lx

I was not able to recreate the bug with the latest version 1.54.

Many thanks to Patrick from TAL for this extremely fast bugfix. :tu:

BTW you should maybe backup your own presets before installing the update. I found that mine disappeared after the new installation. Good thing i have made a backup before. I'll contact Pattrick about this.

the juno60 has PWM! (and so does this TAL emulation)
The PWM of the Alpha Juno may also be applied to the saw wave, which is something we hardly see, even nowadays.
Tone2 Saurus could do PWM for all waveforms and some seem to be inspired by Alpha Juno waveforms. quote from the Saurus manual:
"5. Double square - Sounds similar to the PWM Sawtooth wave of the Alpha Juno.
PW morphs to Double pulse
6. Comb - Sounds similar to the Comb wave of the Alpha Juno. Good for vocaloid sounds; PW morphs the vocal"

Xils Oxium could do PWM for the Saw (and the Triangle) too but maybe not in a similar way.

Ingo
Saurus does do a great hoover tbh, as does that Phutura. I've just always wanted a 100% legit emu of the Alpha Juno, i've even been tempted to try and buy the hardware. I think because it played such a big part in the music I like , i've just always wanted one.

PROBLEM SOLVED WITH UPDATE 1.61
what about the arp sustain note issue I wrote about earlier?

What about arp speed being limited to 1/8 tops in Sync mode and not having dotted and triplets? :(

And damn, those buttons really need to be changed. I can't look at them, but the thing sounds awesome.

+1 the rest of the plugin is smooth and digital modern looking so I don't comprehend the style choice of throwing in skewed unrealistic looking photorealistic buttons, that totally undermines the nice visual aesthetic that the rest of the plugin pulls off so wonderfully.. It's like talking with someone with salad in their teeth. An itch that cant be scratched. Sad pointless dealbreaker for people like me (maybe its a bit of OCD or something).

Patrick just released another version 1.55:
http://kunz.corrupt.ch/products/tal-u-no-lx

Release notes:
"Released TAL-U-NO-LX version 1.55 for PC and OSX.
Fixes wrong preset location since version 1.53 (Version 1.55).
Fixes "presets not showing up in the context menu after a while" issue (version 1.54).
Fixes the "losing registration issue" on some OSX systems (Version 1.53).
Make shure that you backup the preset folder with your own presets before you update from version 1.53 or 1.54 to version 1.55!""

In Windows 7 the preset folder is now back to:
C:\Users\*******\AppData\Roaming\ToguAudioLine\TAL U-No-LX\presets\
Copy your folder (which you have to backup before) to that one and it will work again.

The old location should be the one which was used in the od version 1.54:
C:\Users\*******\AppData\Roaming\ApplicationSupport\TAL U-No-LX\presets\

For searching the preset folder of the current plugin version you could use "Search preset folder" entry from the menu in the GUI which will open an Explorer window (e.g. Windows Explorer).

The great thing about the Arp is that it can be stepped externally. So you can theoretically have any time signature you want.

Yep, i just give it a go. One of the best sounding VSTi's i've played so far. :) And definitely another league than the other TAL plugins.

! This brings me back to my Dr.110 sending CV-Gate pulses to my SH-101! It's 1984 baby, 19-freaking-84! Very cool! This makes up for not a lot of 'normal' options. You can groove quantize the arp to whatever you like this way! Neato! :hyper:

It would be nice if the arp could play a few more modes then down, up/down, and up. "As Played" would be nice :) It doesn't appear to respond to velocity in EXT 16 arp mode either, if it did it would be a lot more dynamic.

I just made 2 fast demos to show how an external EQ FX could improve the sound of U-NO-LX. I used a modified preset based on the "BAS Round Bass 1 FMR" preset by Fernando.
The tracks use a single instance and the notes were recorded in realtime using the internal Arpeggiator. The Cutoff frequency was modified in realtime using a knob on my Korg NanoKONTROL controller.
As an EQ the Stillwell Audio VibeEQ plugin was used (settings: Low Shelf 110 Hz, Mid1 Shelf 180 Hz and Mid2 Shelf 2500 Hz).
