the vocal kinda does not seem to fit into the song at all.

I'm not saying its bad I'm just saying the vocal sounds like it was just slapped on top. I do kinda like that thing you did in the beginning and how it slowly turned into a clean version of the beat

reading and learning is a great thing to do but the best way to learn is through doing. why not while your reading start a project and try out some of what you have learned. most of the time it will suck in the begining and then you can slowly grasp it and make your own beats and stuff. but it just sounds like you did not place the vocal in right try some eq on it.

Just made this
