It is indeed.
I have been dreaming on something like this... only bigger (three of a kind).

I can go better than that. I have four of them stacked up and playing together at once right now.

Admittedly, they're plugins, but what the hey ^_^

what i meant about the "odd" behavior of the filter...

load the "Startup" patch, and set the following parameters:

A 0
D 5
S 0
R 0

Cutoff 7
Res 0
F. Env 0

Square OFF
Saw OFF
Sub 10

you can leave everything else as it is. when holding down a note, move the RES slider. you get a very smooth sweep from 0 to just past 8. just before it hits 9 it seems like the Resonance is being "modulated", sounds very weird. past 9.5 or so it smooths out and is ok at full resonance. i understand the response of the Cutoff may be modeled after the behavior of the original, but i'm pretty sure the Resonance on the original doesn't act like this.

of course, this is a pretty isolated case and probably doesn't matter too much, but it seemed pretty noticeable to me right off the bat.

I've noticed a few instances where the filter has behaved a little weirdly and I love it. One one patch I had high resonance and the saw on, as soon as I added the square the filter started "warbling" like it was doing filter FM or something. It's the little nuances like that that stop this synth being boring to me. A couple of times I've got sounds bordering on ringmodulation with this.

If you look at the envelopes on a spectrogram you can see they have a weird curve, also. Unique is good!

On the other hand, speaking of peculiarities, some have noted that they found the square wasn't quite symmetrical at 0%, my experience is that this isn't true. With the slider at zero only odd harmonics are produced and I'm getting a perfect square unless I'm very much mistaken.

i wouldn't call that "good" in any sense of the word. just like the way the Filter Cutoff jumps sharply on the Arturia MiniMoog V Original (and probably the full version as well). these thing shouldn't happen and are just a result of bad (?) coding. if the originals act like this, then fine. if they don't (and they most likely don't), then this should be fixed.

also, i noticed that self-oscillation doesn't kick in unless the Res slider is all the way at 10. it's been years since i've had a Juno (had a 60 and 106), but i don't think this is accurate. i think it starts to come in around 7 or 8.

Great fmr presets in there btw.
Your post above could apply to all synths in general.
Sometimes accepting whatever one perceives as flaws, are what can be it's actual strength as well, or just adds something unique to it's character.

Oh, oh... Have to check that tomorrow. I didn't notice anything like that during the betas, but...

Everyone needs to check out the EXT 16 arp mode. It makes sequencing your arp in your piano roll very very cool.

yes, instant oldskool chicago house :) The bassline in the seminal house track 'Can you Feel it' By Mr. Fingers was done with this technique. Rimshot from Tr-707 triggering Juno-60 arp.

I hope Mr. Togu will keep updating the synth, it's frighteningly close now, just some little tid bits here and there and it'll be perfect ;) I bought it!
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool
