About the embedded fx etc; my points are:
- Keep this one as it is (pure)
- Introduce a pro version next to it with extra's.

I sure don't need the extra's, it's very good as it is. For EQ-ing I rather use plugins that are build for this purpose only.

until when will it be available on the introductory price? Can't find it...

Hi,

i just reprogrammed the "Blade Runner" sound based on the video here:
http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2010/ ... a-june-60/

The link for the U-NO-LX preset file is here:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53230726/BRS%2 ... r%20IW.zip

You could copy this to the existing preset folders or create a new one. For finding the preset folder you could use "Show Preset folder..." from the menu in GUI of U-NO-LX.

You should have the "MAN" switch in the LFO section enabled for controlling the LFO TRIG switch with a controller. In the preset above the "MAN" switch is already enabled and LFO TRIG is already routed to the Modwheel. This is saved with the preset.

If not alraedy done (like in this preset) you could assign the LFO TRIG switch to the Modwheel like this:
- click on "Midi Learn" (at the CONTROL section)
- click on "LFO TRIG" (at the CONTROL section)
- move the Modwheel at your MIDI controller
- click on "Midi Learn" again to disable it
- enable the "MAN" switch in the LFO section

Of course for better control of the amount you could also assign the "LFO" slider in the DCO section to the Modwheel. You have to deactivate the "MAN" button in the LFO section then.

In the video they added an external Delay and Reverb FX, you could try the same. As already mentioned in this thread also adding an EQ could be nice in some cases. Several free FXs are available at the TAL website:
http://kunz.corrupt.ch/Products

I have tried U-NO-LX with the TAL-Dub-2 Delay and TAL-Reverb III which seems to sound nice.

Hi everyone,

I've just bought this synth and I'm very satisfied with it!
My first polyphonic synthesizer was the beloved Juno 106, almost 30 years ago :) so this beast evocates a lot of my ancestral experiences with electronic music (those were the times of my first experiments with MIDI, interfacing the Juno with a MIDIzed Commodore 64...).

Only one thing: IIRC the 106 has polyphonic portamento, but I don't know if also the Juno 60 had it too. If not, it would be awesome if U-NO-LX would implement poly portamento in a future update...

Many thanks indeed,
Cochrane

I know most people wouldn't consider this a 'desert island' synth' but it is for me. I can dial in sounds so easily because this was the first polysynth architecture I learned as well (with a 106). Give me this and my PodFarm effects rack and I'm probably set, everything else is just icing. Since I got this it is about all I have been playing with :)

I really don't need another 'emulation' vsti but I thought I'd check this out - mostly to support TAL in return for the great free plugs I've been using for years.
I've been really surprised at what lovely sounds can come out of such a relatively simple synth. Love it - bought it!

Yes, he released 1.58 with some minor fixes and also to address an issue I reported (earlier in this string)... The right behavior is:

Tried it, said yes and bought it! :)

Perfect for some of my classic hard trance soundzzz... :)

Nearly finished a track using only this synth for all synth and fx sounds. I will post a link soon as its finished.

Still you wont be getting the same sounds. ;)

The 2012 is what it is because of the way the two units are linked internally. In fact the way they have put that together actually constitutes a whole new synth concept, meaning you cannot achieve the same by just using two (or three or four) regular stock units in parallel. Thats what makes the 2012 so special.

PS: After i saw the 2012 i couldnt help but envision a project like that made out of four Jupiter-8. (What a thought.) Considering the sounds a gigantoid machine like that would be able to produce, terms like 'fat' and 'enormous' probably wouldnt suffice anymore. If we additionally equipped that setup with a Juno-60 Chorus unit, words would probably fail entirely. As a Klingon would say: It would be glorious. (Just a dream, yeah, but a nice one.) :)

Bought it. I learned subtractive synthesis on a Juno 60 many years ago.

Same here...
I checked the strange behaviour of the resonance, as described earlier, double checked with my Juno-60, and the U-No-LX faithfully reproduces what the Juno-60 does. We hadn't that in the Betas, but Patrick told me he did some work on the resonance at the last minute. He didn't specified what it was - now I know.
It's weird, but it's anothjer weirdness that was already in the Juno-60 (his and mine's) so, it's there where it belongs.
Actually, I had to fix several of my organ patches, because of this. That resonance behaviour broke the sound.
I notice it just happens past 9 and before reaching full 10, and the cutoff has to be between 6 and 7 to notice that. But it's there in the Juno-60, allright.

I think this would give you an instant heart attack (too much cholestherol)

Hi,
I've played with DEMO of U-NO-LX for some time and it is really nice.
I am considering to buy it, but:

1) I doesn't work (I mean plugin/DLL is not able to load or recognize by DAW/host) on my main machine - Windows XP "SP1", on SP2 on my son's PC it works. Is it possible to make something it would work on SP1 too?

2) Could you incorporate some kind of portable install mode, please? (Patches directly next to DLL plugin, and registration? I am not sure if you save some license file or write to registry :-(,
I'd need to use U-NO-LX within portable installation of Reaper...

You should write a support request in the author's site: http://kunz.corrupt.ch/Support
Maybe he can help you, but there is a registration, so... I don't know.
