You can even change the knobs type in the grey skin if you wish, for more neutral knobs without the triangle thing.

( you need to relaunch the plug after that )

Yeah I must have done that, because they are gone. I still don't like the 'grime' look or the orange/red on the theme though. Some of the text looks poorly aliased, with red in the letters. Still not too easy on the eyes but better by far, those knobs were annoying.

Yes the filter envelope knob is centered :

from center 0 clockwise : Positive modulation
from zero anticlockwise : Negative modulation ( A la Jupiter, for example )

Also you can have the same in the mod matrix.

A little trick I used for some presets : Using both filter envelope and the auxilliary envelope to modulate the cutoff : You can do some nice things with this. ( And even more if you use the loop feature of these envelopes )

Like I said we'll took this opportunity to fix a few bugs, and eventually add some new features, like a few additional target parameters

So what would be the additonal parameters you would like to see in Oxium.

Also planned are some videos tuts, and probably a kind of video walkthru/overview.

Here again if you would like to see some special subjects covered ( Le Masque, Preset sytem, etc etc ) please just add your voice here.

Thanks for the promo pricing extension. Although I've already purchased Oxiom, it's really nice to see that some software designers understand the fragility of the current economy.
In contrast, one of your major competitors recently had a short (two week?) intro sale during their beta testing period. Many people had to pass because the first releases weren't very optimized and sucked CPU cycles like they were stored in the last bottle of True Blood in Fangtasia. After the initial sale was over they immediately released a much more optimized version. They then balked at people that complained and basically suggested that it was their fault for not buying essentially unusable beta software.

No other synth has this problem. The GUI needs to be fine tuned.
As I said, no other synth so far malfunctions in it, which by now, the MUX is becoming the #1 tools in my arsenal.
I'm modulating the heck out of Oxium and it's becoming a modular synth when inside the MUX, but you'll need to fix it!!!! :help:
I love the sound of Oxium but......
Hi LiquidSound,

We'll have a look at this asap.

Just drove 12 hours today to come back home : Holydays are finished :-o

More on this issue later, or on Xils forum.

Could be related to "unnecesarily" using GDI+ to draw images even when there's no scaling. Using GDI in that case speeds up a LOT!
We don't use GDI, but we had the "old" VST implementation - the mouse down would not return until mouse up, and call effEditIdle (?) inbetween. We since moved to returning directly on mouse down, and do all further mouse handling on mouse move events. That solved it.

Hope this helps,

U

I think the GUI code of Xils-lab products should have a re-write from scratch. Each time I try one of their product, either inside Reaper or Renoise, when their GUI are open and I tweak, everything inside the host re-draw super slowly. I don't know what GUI calls they're using, probably WinG or some old crap, but they should use DirectDraw or something better than what they are using now.

That's probably the main reason I don't use their products, I like to tweak with the mouse but hate the refresh problem.
Sorry to hear that, and thanks for the report.

It works fine in all my hosts ( Cubase etc etc )( and it has to as I make all of my sound design so its used extensively )

If some people has the same problems with Reaper, please just let us know, as this host is very popular.

Also if you can give us some details on your system : OS and Host Version, 35/64, bridges or not )
I have tested it in Reaper on my system but am not seeing this problem with any XILS synth, even with gui update set to low in options. Maybe it happens under certain circumstances such as hgh memory demands?

Thanks for the report Stephen,

I was surprised that such a thing like all Xils synths having GUI problems on Reaper when turning a knob was not reported before.

We will however take a closer look at Oxium behaviour in MuLab, and Reaper to find if there's something we can do.

Just beautiful

Also in Mp3 format :

Here what Boele wrote on the Youtube page ( Where you can read also a very nice minireview of Oxium he made )

" Demosong for the XILS-lab soft synth Oxium, using also the very cool modulation delay LeMasque.
Recorded in Logic Pro on a MacBook Pro 13 inch, on August 4, 2012 in Zutphen, the Netherlands.
12 stereo tracks XILS-lab Oxium
1 drumtrack Arturia Spark
various tracks using the XILS-lab LeMasque delay
A little reverb and compression from Logic
."

Many thanks to Boele for this track
