You'll usually get an emai from them....BERFAB wrote:No upgrade price for Alloy 1 owners is listed. Is that right?
Does anyone know what's going on there?

Alloy 1 had a great gate in the Dynamics module and it's still there in Alloy 2. http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/a ... p#dynamics (https://izotope.pxf.io/c/4241666/2521502/30400?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.izotope.com%2Fproducts%2Faudio%2Falloy%2Ffeatures.asp%23dynamics)cyphersuit wrote:no gate on this, hm.

Log in to your iZotope account. Coupons are on the flash page for current customers. Upgrade to Alloy 2 = $79. Not too shabby.BERFAB wrote:I'll look for that, thanks.whyterabbyt wrote:You'll usually get an emai from them....BERFAB wrote:No upgrade price for Alloy 1 owners is listed. Is that right?

Hmm strange.. it isnt there for me. I wonder if its different for 2nd hand licenses?
I emailed them a few days back asking for plans for a 64 bit Alloy upgrade for mac, and the rep who replied said he was unaware of any plans. Really hope there's an upgrade path for me.

Lots new here:

Yes the gate seems to work well an as a vst3, you can side chain the gate as well, which is a trick I like to use all the time.
I am a sucker for the multiband stuff. Love combining the multiband transient shaper with the multiband exciter and dynamics to shape a sound. Played around with this a bunch and it's most fun on big baselines and kicks but useful everywhere. I do find myself wishing for Ozone's multiband stereo imaging to be included too so I can tighten the bass to dead center and let the overtones spread out across the stereo field, but I just use the Ozone component plug for that.

I'm looking forward to checking it out.
I bought, but really didn't use Alloy much for quite a while. In the past 6 months, I've really come to rely on it and really like it. Version 2 looks great too.

Yup. I think the original idea was to have a much lighter CPU hit for people who like to use Ozone on individual channels instead of just mixdown/mastering.cyphersuit wrote:so does this fall into the group of channel strips?!
Some stuff here is not the usual channel strip stuff, but for me, it's kind of a utility knife. I rarely use more than one or two of its effects at any time, although in the extreme you can get some pretty interesting beat effects.
