What would be good would be a PDF archive for subscribers like some of the other magazines from Future have.

worst copy protection ever.. someone could just go to a store read the magazine...

I paid via paypal just to read this though, and the zinio reader is kind of neat.

Great news. Now could somebody enlighten me how this works? ;)

Thanks,
Go to http://vault.computermusic.co.uk.
Register your account.
Confirm the email.
Go back to the site and login.
Add your magazine (it will ask questions that are answered within the magazine).
Download the files.

That's it. It worked flawlessly for iOS, not sure about PDF? I saw something about Zinio in the process though, so maybe that's how you do it?

Thanks.

What about those of us with a print subscription? Is there any access, or do we have to pay for a separate digital subscription?

Well I take it back about the tone2 stuff, I installed the bifilter on my computer that came with the latest mag.

Dunno about the CM Plugin stuff.. yet Im on the fence about cluttering up my plugin folder with them.

Great tone2 plugin for 5$ I might have to pick up Saurus now..

You have to answer questions related to the magazine (maybe wahst the third word on 5th line or something)

It only gives you the stuff that comes on the disc though, it doesn't give you online or digital access to the magazine.

Yep, but 3.3Gb finest stuff for only 3.16GBP (incl. VAT) ... ;)

Well done CM Mag. Now lets hope Beat Mag finds a similar solution... ;)

Hi all,

We're working on an FAQ for the download system that I hope will clear up everyone's questions, but to give a quick answer:

You can access the download system whether you read the print, Apple Newsstand or Zinio edition, and instructions are included in the magazine for this. It's very straightforward. In short, you sign up at vault.computermusic.co.uk, register your issues, then download the content.

But the copy protection requires that I have the actual issue in hand.

This can take a couple of weeks to reach me by snailmail when I live outside of Britain. I was hoping to be able to download the sample content while my magazine is still in the mail.

When I receive the mag with the DVD I don't really have a big need to download the content then.

I bought this mag from My Favourite Magazine, wouldn't it be possible to use the receipt number I got from them as proof of purchase instead?

I logged in and out of the vault.computermusic account. The copy protection question is the same both times, so it appears not to be generated by random. This means that I don't really need to buy the mag, I can pop into the newsagent get the required information by flicking through the mag and download the content for free.

I know this is unlikely as it's not happened so far, but any chance of PDF versions for subscribers like Linux Format (and maybe other Future mags) do? That would allow me to read my old copies on my kindle rather than rummaging through old copies. It would also free up a lot of shelf space ;)

Hopefully they fix that, otherwise lots of people will take advantage of it..

I wish I had known this was coming before I re-upped for the coming year. Much more convenient, and saves money and trees.

I like that the tutorials are all embedded with direct links to the vids. And it will also be nice to read CM with other cited links embedded in the copy.

Just bought the latest issue via Zinio, and seriously, i could vomit... it turned out that i now need to install their Reader on my computer in order to be able to read the mag. Seriously, i just can't be arsed to install software for any crap that i do, why can't this just be in .pdf form? AFAIK, you can even put some kind of DRM protection on it, if protection is needed... by far better than have loads of crap software bloating your computer to the exceed. If i had known that before, i wouldn't have bought the issue, it's just silly, sorry.

This download is indeed a great option, and the trees are
in less danger every year:

I am very happy for the download option. All the free space in my studio is reserved for my synthesizers. I really don't have any space for magazines, so this was the best option for me. This was probably the only way to get me to subscribe for a year.

My only wish is to see download options for past issues too.

Does anyone know if it the same system works with future music too?
