bypass button or bypass state ( to save cpu)

For some reasons I like and need to keep the vsts I use always in the audio path.
Because of this a bypass button would be really useful or, at least the chance to bring the Ubermod to no-cpu load and save it as a preset.

Use the MIX control. Or bypass it in the DAW.unguitar wrote:For some reasons I like and need to keep the vsts I use always in the audio path.

Thanks Sean,
on my previous tests it looks like the mix control takes the effect out but the processing is still happening, therefore using cpu.
If there was a bypass state on the vst management of my DAW I would have solved my issue already, I wouldn't have bothered you with such a question.
Is there a setting that minimize the processing at the lowest ?

If the MIX control turned off the computations when turned down to 0%, you would get some ugly artifacts when turning the MIX back up, as the delay buffer would have some old material in there. Clearing the delay buffer can result in CPU spikes, so that isn't an option either.unguitar wrote:Thanks Sean,

What DAW is this? This seems like a serious flaw.If there was a bypass state on the vst management of my DAW I would have solved my issue already, I wouldn't have bothered you with such a question.
The default state is the lowest CPU. It is simply a 2-tap chorus - no diffusion or nonlinearities. Here's a simple preset that acts as a bypass:Is there a setting that minimize the processing at the lowest ?
<ValhallaUberMod pluginVersion="1.0.1" presetName="FauxBypass" Mix="0" Depth="0.725000024" StereoWidth="1" Delay="0.0055999998" Feedback="0" Spread="0.5" Slope="0.5" Skew="0.5" Random="0" TapGain="0.541666687" Diffusion="0.5" DiffSize="0.0204081628" DiffModRate="0.0490490496" DiffModDepth="0.5" LowCut="0" HighCut="0.497487426" SpatialXover="0.120603018" DetuneRate="0.0240240246" DetuneDepth="1" VibratoRate="0.298245579" VibratoDepth="0" OverMod="0" DriveInGain="0.0625" DriveOutGain="1" DriveNoiseGain="0" FeedbackRotate="0.5" SmoothingTime="0.0990990996" ColorMode="0" DelaySync="0" type="0" DiffEnable="0" Drive="0" DrivePrePost="0" Speed="0" InputPan="0"/>
Turn up the mix depth, and you've got a Dimension D emulation.

for easiness etc. i can just support the thread starter.
when you have 2 valhalla plugins and some more and your mixer is in the back you have to switch between windows always..... a small button would really help, and there is plenty of space in those plugin screens to put one
.
without a preset.

DAWs have bypass controls built into their plugin windows. Putting a bypass button on the GUI of the Valhalla plugins would be redundant, and would needlessly complicate the GUI. So the answer to this request is "no."Caine123 wrote:for easiness etc. i can just support the thread starter.

The goal of the Valhalla plugins is to simplify things for the vast majority of users. If I included every feature request into the plugins, the Valhalla plugins would turn into bloated horrors. So, when I say "No," it is with the intention of preserving the simplicity of the plugins.

i understand this but i will show you when it would be helpful later in a picvalhallasound wrote:DAWs have bypass controls built into their plugin windows. I am really clear about why a bypass button would be redundant, from a design and utility perspective, so I'm not going to be adding them to my plugins.Caine123 wrote:i understand this but i will show you when it would be helpful later in a picvalhallasound wrote:DAWs have bypass controls built into their plugin windows.
