what if you could have only one SYNTH plugin (no drum plugs, or hardware).

IF it came to it…really hard to decide. i love variety, the differences between plugins. but if i could only choose one, i'd choose… sylenth1. it's FUN, great at pads, basses, leads. weird stuff. mostly, i just enjoy PLAYING it; i have deeper, newer synths, but i guess "fun" is important to me.

so...no second choices, or alternatives. am daring you to choose just ONE... :o
Lately I'd agree with this, though sometimes things change.

I make dance, but every if not I still might choose Sylenth1.

No wavetables and not as phat as Diva it's true, but as something all-round it is fantastic and I can rely on it to do almost anything well.

Zebra2 may be another contender but I've not been able to get into that much yet.

I think simplicity of Sylenth1 is one of its great strengths.

Zebra is the correct answer! Thanks for playing everyone! All losers will receive a consolation price of the home game as thanks for playing! :hihi:

Agree with V-Ger! I would choose Vaz Modular without hesitation. The sound feels "alive" and there's endless possibilities with it.

interesting choices. i could see my own choice changing on a different day (ie zebra. maybe z3ta+ 2...if they get the bugs out). some cheating going on.... no cheating! a synth plugin ONLY...

Reaktor for me too

which is sort of cheating, considering its more of a programming language than an actual synth.

:P
actually i think it's cheating because it's hundreds of synths, fx, drum units :)
I don't. I  Reaktor.... :hihi:

You would need to run that one synth of choice in a DAW and that'll be MuLab of course, and.. tadaa! The MUX is already integrated in there :D So you still have one choice left! :hihi: 8)
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Sorry for stretching the topic but a Zebra inside the MUX would seal the deal.

So, Artillery 2 then?

Personally, I'd go with Rapture because I wouldn't want to live in a world where only one synth was allowed.

I have never been happy with drums made by synths, they somehow lack the typical sound of real drums. So I suppose the synth would have to include a sample player. MuTools' Mux seems one of the most complete solutions as it includes a sample player among many other things.
But frankly, I don't know any ideal solution, yet, and I am happy I don't have to make such a difficult decision :D

I don't know Reaktor well enough yet, so I'll have to go Zebra2 (which I sold to get Reaktor! ).
