Glad something is happening again.
But to be honest I thought multi core capabilities would be implemented (because of the long, long time period where nothing happened) :?

Post

Yeah.. :)

I too wondered whether multi core would be coming... but maybe it still is... I find it hard to believe no work has been done on it...

.. but naming recording takes like this has been top of my list for while now... so I smile and look forward to that :)

Yeah, I do.

I still use 2.6 and it still works for me. I am happy to see it get some love after a long period of silence.

does anybody still believe a word jorgen says ?
What he said was gonna be in v2 never was and now v3 will be adding back what is missing from v1 supposedly and nobody sees the utter stupidity in that haha. why not just update and fix v1. its a much better app anyway lol

Post

cool, I've still got a lot of songs to finish in v2, so all that can help is a plus!

of utter importance :-/

You must simply love it when developers move on to make a newer version of their software without finishing the current one. It must be some kind of a law, I think.

I'm still on v1.41 and it just worx. ♥ it. It would be nice some of the worst bugs got fixed and worked with multicore processors better, but I'm so used to these bugs now... I know how to avoid them. :) v1.41 actually works with multi-core processors somewhat, but be careful with that function.

In my humblest opinion, EnergyXT [even v2] is still the best and fastest way to jot down your project fast. Nothing else can compare to it. I was a Cubase user until I found EnergyXT... I also use Reaper, but it simply can't beat the simplicity of workflow in EXT1, so I use it for mixing my jots in EXT and finalising the track properly. Reaper is great for mixing.

Cheers!

Everything you say is sage and true. But, get past six minutes twenty and it all goes a bit pear shaped. Having said that, I have done nine minute tracks and it has been ok.

On the whole what you say is true though. That is why I still stick around.

ext has become a joke. and not a funny one.
once in year you get some bugfixes and minor gui adjustments. awesome.

Post

Yeah, it's not exactly keeping up with the likes of MuLab or Reaper...

what really, really bothers me are two things:
1) software is never free of bugs (per definition), hence over the lifetime of a product, you'll always have to fix bugs
2) every now and then you get some alibi changes in ext just to indicat that the product is not abandoned (which it is, in fact). instead of fooling the customers, jorgen should come clean.

it really sucks how ext customers are treated. yes, it's sold a relatively fair price but that doesn't free the vendor from taking care of the product. it may sound silly, but where is the prideas a developer and the responsibility of a vendor?
