I can see why you think that, but I don't agree. I think it kinda goes with the territory, especially when you're talking about simple synths like the Juno. "Why should I get a synth as simple as this? What does it do that other synths don't?". It's an inevitable question, and the same thing people sometimes ask of the hardware too.

And the answer is the same as the hardware - Uno LX delivers good sounding results easily. If Juno sounds aren't to your taste then you'll maybe scratch your head. But, if they are, this synth easily sounds good enough to stand on its own two feet, without much worry about "talk" from anybody :)
That's exactly about it. U-NO-LX was designed to recreate a Juno-60 as good as possible. Nothing more and nothing less. I don't know why some people are not able to accept this.
I got a bunch of other synths which are much more complex but i like the sound of U-NO-LX and also how many different sounds could be done with such a simple design. I also have to admit that i prefer the sounds which use the awesome Juno Chorus as without it does not sound very special (like with the real synth)...

Hey, if you guys wanna go & argue about which synth does what, that's fine.
I'm just happy to have a $35 Juno-60, that doesn't weigh 100 lbs.
Although I do miss the real wooden side panels.

Exactly my thoughts.

I suffer from this strange kind of phenomenon. When I test my analog-style VSTi through my mixer and monitors, they all sound "analog" to me. When tested in my headphones from the internal soundcard of my PC, none of them do. Not even Diva and unfortunately not the Uno either. Is there any possible explanation for this other than my brain must be schrewed? Is it the converters, mixer-noise, the monitors or friggin bloody what?

No they are fine. I have two pairs, both high quality.

Maybe that's the problem :D
On my studio headphones my synths sound totally different as compared with the speakers, colder and more hollow somehow.

the end caps on the Juno-60 are "fake". ie - particle board with faux woodgrain veneer.

Can't pull the wool over the eyes of the ever-observant KVRians.
FINE
I miss theparticle board faux-wooden side panels.
Check the bottom too, I think it's thin plywood.
(or was I thinking about the JX8P? or JX3P?)

I started to make music 8 years ago. At that time, Ableton 5 was released and vst's and stuff were already unlimited. I never worked with analog gear, so I can't compare u-no-lx to anything analog.

But it's refreshing to work with such a limited synth. I'm used to the abundance of having zillion oscillators and lfo's; compare stuff like Zebra, Dune and Sylenth1 to this u-no. I can't say the the results I get with u-no are worse then with the 'big boys'.

Creativity is chosing your limitations. U-no helps. :hihi:

I loaded an instrument from Logic, used the same midi part and still out of tune. had to use a pitch correction tool to get it close.

the hardware synths were always a little wonky, but I have a bunch of Roland synths and none of them are ever this off. I even went and grabbed my Juno to compare tuning issues. The Roland was actually pretty close to being in tune when I plugged it in.

I really like the sound of the emulation, so I am hoping that it's just a limitation on the demo. anyone know anything about that? thanks.
anyone?

I like emulations that are 1 for 1 copies of the hardware, without the extra bells and whistles as I will never be able to afford or want to spend silly amounts of money on certain original vintage synths(I got an Alpha Juno and DX-21 though), I like to have the same limitation as the originals just for the sheer curiousity of it all...

I also like the fact that modern Virtual Softsynths are getting closer to the sound of real analogue...I really want software to nail it 100%(If it's ever possible with digital and without the aid of samples? )!

Nobody?
TAL-Uno-LX is an amazing achievement. Near perfect duplication of a legendary synth well worth more than the asking price. The TAL-Uno-LX has no more shortcomings than its hardware counterpart does. If you want to criticize the LX fine, just show where it fails to live up to the Juno 60. Or tell us why a Juno60 is not worth $70.00
