I only fired it couple of times since i got it but i like it a lot,
I am very impressed with it, in fact i think is awesome, I got it with Cubase 6.5, but before i decided to get Cubase i was thinking of getting it anyway, and the price is pretty good too, considering the quality of it it is probably one of the best value for money synths out there.

I wonder why they offer a trial for padshop, but not for retrologue?

Steinberg are a bit late in the game... but well done!
Afaik it's the only vst3 synth in the market with support of note expression and this gives some very nice and new controlling features from a VST3 host like Cubase.
Good readable and easy to use GUI. It seems the guys at Steinberg which designed/developed Retrologue are also musicians.

Some _very_ handy stuff I never seen before are for example this "show automation track for parameter" (right context menu if the mouse is on a knob/fader). This will show and open in Cubase the automation track for this parameter!

Unison with not only integer values. Values between two (integer) values will add an additional oscillator but mixed in at a reduced level.

Wishes for improvements? Not many...
- 2 additional oscillators would be great
- additional oscillator mode for waveforms with the option to load user waveforms

Maybe my ears are just spoiled by the good synths recently, but I don't hear too much (virtual) analog character from it. Still, it sounds good and it's fun to use and program, it just seems a bit 'linear'. It doesn't have the emergent properties of some other modelled synths.

I haven't compared it with anything, but off the top of my head, I seem to remember even Monologue (an earlier synth that came with Cubase) having more character, but I could just be totally misremembering that as I haven't used it a whole lot.

I love the highpass filter, the other filter modes are "good". Definitely a valuable asset, all in all, but I did get it for free because of when I bought Cubase, so that lightens my feelings for it

I had more or less the same thoughts when i tried the demo version.
Nice synth on it's own but nothing i really need based on the synths i already got including e.g. Oxium and Saurus.

Padshop Pro and Retrologue became no brainers when you consider they can use the VST3.5 technology, MIDI expression (Note) which is actually really cool.

Still using VST2.5 (Ableton Live 8.3) and Windows 7 32-bit so you could call me "old-fashioned".

Yeah Ableton doesn't do note expression, purely a Cbase thing, but it's something I am liking, even if I find it a bit wierd, modulation of the 3rd or 2nd note in a chord. Makes it bonkers lol
